Luzerne Campground partially surrounds Fourth Lake, which is approximately 51 acres, with a maximum depth of 41 feet. No motor boats are allowed on the lake, creating a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. Luzerne has a special camping area for equestrians, with horse barns, separate corrals with water, and picnic tables, located in a grove of pines. There are about five miles of marked trails on state land connected to about 60 miles of private trails.

**CAMPGROUND SPECIFIC INFORMATION**
- Sites H1 to H22 are campsites with horse stalls available. Campers without horses booking this area during these times may have their reservation canceled upon arrival to the facility. An additional campsite is not needed. On Memorial Day weekend, Fourth of July Weekend, and Labor Day Weekend, YOU MUST HAVE A HORSE TO CAMP IN THIS AREA. At other times during the year, a horse is not required to stay in this area. Please note that horses are **NOT** available for hire at the campground
- All horses must have a current Coggins Certificate to enter the park
- Out of state equestrians must have a current 30 day horse health certificate with them at all times
- Motorized boats are not allowed on the lake
- Day Use Area: There is a carry in, carry out policy for garbage at this facility
  
**WHEN YOU ARRIVE** -You must sign for your own site. Have your equipment with you and be ready to camp when you register. Names of all campers on a site must be listed on the permit at time of registration  
**CHECK-IN TIME** -From 2pm until 9p.m. Campers must register for their campsite by 9:00 p.m. on the first night of their reservation or the campsite will be subject to re-rental and all fees will be forfeited  
**CHECK-OUT TIME** -11:00 a.m. on your departure date  
**OCCUPANCY** -Limited to 6 individuals per campsite and 2 tents or 1 unit of hard wheeled camping equipment and 1 tent. Only 2 vehicles permitted on any campsite. Extra vehicles will be required to park in a designated area (additional fees will apply)  
**AGE REGULATIONS** -Campsites must be registered and occupied by a responsible person 18 years of age or older  
**LENGTH OF STAY** -Your camping permit can be issued for a maximum of 14 nights. From July 1 through Labor Day only 14 cumulative nights will be permitted at any campground.   
**QUIET HOURS** -From 10 p.m. until 7 a.m., and are strictly enforced. Violators of this policy may be evicted  
**GENERATORS** -The use of generators may be limited to no more than 5 hours per day and fall between the hours of 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily. If the use of a generator is deemed unreasonably loud by the facility staff then individual use of a generator may be prohibited/limited  
**FIRES** -Must be built in fireplaces provided. Only dead and down wood may be used for fuel. No chainsaws are allowed in campgrounds, and cutting down trees, alive or dead is prohibited.  
**FIREARMS** -Are not allowed in campgrounds except during the Fall and Spring hunting seasons. Firearms must not be discharged within campground boundaries at any time  
**ACCESSIBLE SITES** -At least one member of the camping party staying on the site must be mobility impaired (i.e. in a wheelchair or uses a walker) or the camping party may be turned away at the campground  
**SWIMMING** -A swimming beach available. \* Please take note the swimming facilities at this location are not supervised by a lifeguard or other responsible person. In place of on-site supervision, this facility has established a series of safeguards to be followed by all guests, the details of which are outlined in a brochure presented to customers upon arrival at the facility.  
**PETS** -Are allowed with proof of a currently valid rabies vaccination in the form of a current year's tag or a certificate issued by the veterinarian. Campers can walk dogs on a leash no longer than six feet as long as the animal is under control. Dogs cannot be left unattended and are not allowed in facility structures, on the beach or in day use areas

My overall favorite place. Lover being on the far side of the lake with the private beach and no motorboats allowed. Tons of bike riding options. Great little lake for kayaking and fishing. Minutes away from Lake George village. Great little diners and shops in town of Hadley/Luzerne also.

My best friend and I took the kids to this campground and we loved it! Beautiful beaches, lots of places to hike and lots of places to take a bicycle and go exploring! We loved it here and will be returning!

Older camp facilities but well maintained, nice swim at your own risk beach (no guards), boat rentals, good fishing.

we have been going to this campground for almost 15 years and my husband went here a a kid with his family. We always get the same site, for 15 years. My daughter loves it here. We get our site close to the lake so we can walk down and swim and my husband fishes. The showers are so nice and private and clean. Love that we can rent boats too. Also, the little mom and pop store across the street is perfect for last minute needs and have the best homemade chocolate cream pie.

I loved this campsite. Was very secluded, small lake but perfect for kayaking. There’s a small beach on the other side of lake(not recommended to swim at by workers) that you can kayak to and relax. Not overcrowded at all and in a great location. There are many trails in the back of the campground. Overall, I had a great experience here. Would def return for future camping endeavors!

Campsite was a little creepy but the scenery and attractions around the area were amazing. Lake george is right down the road and it is also across from an adventure/tubing area.

Lake luzerne

The only campground in all of New York that acquires to house back riders. There are campsites that also come with stalls for your horse!

Defenitly in the woods!

Very nice site secluded in the woods. The small lake my children went swimming in and you could kayak it. Very peaceful area, overall would recommend. My kind of camping!

Secluded, Wooded Site

The staff is very helpful. I came here for the weekend with some friends. Not too many people. We all had a blast! 


Amazing Staff

We loved our weekend stay! My husband and I spent the weekend and loved it! We loved being deep in the woods! It was nice to have a little country store right across the street from the entrance of the campground. They had anything and everything you might need or had forgotten!
