Swingle Canyon Road Ridge Dispersed — Cibola NF

Description

The high ridge inside Cibola National Forest near the New Mexico–Socorro County backcountry rises to a pull-off at a cattle guard offering genuine high-desert solitude, dark skies sharp enough to trace the Milky Way, and room for a small group of vehicles on a flat, cleared pad. Swingle Canyon Road climbs to it via deeply rutted track with steep switchbacks — high-clearance is advisable, though the road is manageable at a careful pace without four-wheel drive. A fire ring is on-site, cell signal generally reaches two to three bars, and traffic past the spot is minimal.
