Hikers on the Cohos Trail pass directly through this free dispersed area in White Mountain National Forest, where a string of sites lines both sides of an unpaved road roughly three miles from the highway. Sites vary considerably: some fit only a tent and a car, while others extend 70 to 80 feet back from the road with established fire circles large enough for several campers. No facilities are on-site. Sites are spaced far enough apart that neighboring camp sounds rarely carry, and several positions have open sightlines to the sky. Those wanting developed amenities can look at Zealand Campground or explore dispersed camping near White Mountain National Forest for comparable free options in the region.
