Dolomite and McWilliams Campgrounds were reconstructed and combined in 2013 and now called just “McWilliams Campground.” McWilliams Campground now has 75 campsites which accommodate both tent and recreational vehicle (RV) use. McWilliams Campground is open year-round, with 14 campsites available in the winter as well as winter parking for snowplay.

We enjoyed this spot and it is very well maintained. The weather was nice and cool up at approximately 8500 ft. Would stay here again.

Great 70+ sites for campers, tents, RVs and 5th Wheels   Dome of these parking spots are massively long  I saw 40 foot rigs in some of them  I’m a tent camper and stayed in 015 with a stunning view of the nearby peaks and just turning fall foliage   Flush toilets and sinks  no showers   No cell service   2 min for Lee Canyon ski resort and the Bristlecone Trailhead   Great spot!

So the rangers combined this place and McWilliams to one camp ground. They now just call this the round about so your not lost if you look for this place it’s just now McWilliams

So this entire forest is gorgeous and they have some of the most amazing hikes. This particular spot is in reference to the McWilliams they had to rename it and combine it because it was easier for the rangers to run it that way. They have tables, bathrooms and the location is now McWilliams.

  

  

Here are my star ratings based on my lifestyle and what I like. I'm also a mother, dog mama, and a wife so it's not just me it's my crew and i. 1 star- AUTOMATIC relocate… the property is no longer there, trashed or/and I could never have my children there and I wouldn't ever think about staying no matter what. 2 star- Not really my jam, and would NEVER go to again… It probably more of desert life and not really my style for sure…Being from Vegas I can't stand being in the desert and I love the Trees and the Green more than anything. 3 star- Would stay there again in a pinch, but not really my style, the reason its not is because not enough family things to do, the scenery, or the location… but I would go again and feel safe having my kiddos here but only if I needed to in a pinch. 4 star- a really good rating for sure, maybe needed some improvements, minor things like being on top of each other, not a lot of privacy, but honestly little cosmetic things that aren't anything to sweat and would be back again for sure. 5 star- MY FAVORITE… love the location, safety, the surroundings, big camp spots available to fit toys for my kids to play, hammocks to hang, our big family tent, cases of firewood, our suburban or RV, etcccccc….. The spots are close but Anything after 66 is great because it use to be a different campground but they put them all together so if your reserving a spot make sure it’s past 66. Anyway nice camp host, nice clean tables, fire rings, bbq grill and the roads are completely paved. Super nice camp ground

Close spots

This was our first time camping on Mt. Charleston. We has started by going to Kyle Canyon, but at last minute opted for McWilliams campground in Lee Canyon instead. This campground is super clean and very quite. It was very chilly this weekend with lows at 29 degrees but still wonderful.

Met some great people, and will definitely go again!

Hidden Gem

This campsite is a great close option to escape the Vegas heat. Being up in the trees is a nice change from the typical desert landscape if you live around here. The spaces are also quite large.
