Olde LYFE Alpacas on Davis Ranch is located near the Sierra Nevada range, featuring flat and open terrain. Temperatures can range from the 30s in winter to the 90s in summer. Nearby attractions include Washoe Lake State Park and the historic town of Virginia City.

Imagine waking up and having an alpaca right outside your door!! That's what you might have on this 130 Acre ranch on the Eastern Slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. At this serene ranch you will find alpacas, llamas, the mini-pot-bellied pig and our old sweet donkey wandering in the grassy fields were you will park, as well as the 30 acre pasture next to it. Visit with the Angora goats, Wensleydale sheep and a random assortment of other livestock in the various paddocks. If a longer walk is what you're looking for, head out into our 90 acre pasture where you might run into the male alpacas sipping from the year-long creek. You can find your complimentary bucket of pellet treats under the porch near the ranch store to hand feed the animals. WARNING!!! You will be swamped with the eager alpacas looking for a treat! Our ranch store is small but stocked with local jellies, honey, farm fresh eggs from our hens and a wide assortment of beautiful alpaca fiber products. We offer walking tours with an alpaca, educational sessions with the alpacas and goats, and custom beanies, scarves, and headbands. Visit our website to pre-order or book an experience. Stay on a Working Alpaca Farm

Great little spot! Stacey the host came out to greet us and very helpful and nice. Had the whole place to ourselves……and the roaming Alpacas of course 😁 Park anywhere you want in the designated circular driveway on flat grass and dirt. We walked along the creek and just relaxed. Very quiet and the backdrop of the mountains was beautiful. 

2 night stay at Alpaca Ranch

I wanted to go car camping and try out my new camping material. This ranch made my first car camping experience a wonder! Stacey, the owner of the alpacas ranch, was very welcoming and friendly! There were so many alpacas, all very cute and friendly! I parked behind a hay stack and next to a picnic table where I could set up my little kitchen. There was also a clean porta potty and hand washing station which was very convenient. Even when I locked my keys in my car, Stacey helped me learn how to use my roadside insurance for the first time, so I appreciated how helpful she was!! I only stayed for one night, but I was comfortable throughout my entire stay! Overall, this was the perfect little getaway from the city, and a great place to walk around in nature. The mountains and trees were gorgeous too! 

Lovely Ranch with the Cutest Alpacas

We came for an overnight after a run of wet weather and it was a little bit muddy. We were prepared for it and the host and helped us pick a good spot so ended up not making any difference. The alpacas were plentiful, the views were good and it made for a good night.
