Description
McGinnis Creek drainage rises to this dispersed area inside Flathead National Forest, situated in grizzly bear country on the edge of the Greater Glacier ecosystem — roughly 15 miles west of Glacier National Park. The approach follows the McGinnis Creek forest road uphill for roughly 12 minutes of washboard and rocky stretches, opening onto a large pull-around turnaround with multiple fire rings. Roads beyond the site are gated, keeping the area quiet and effectively road-end; bear-aware camping practices are essential here.
