Description
Deep in the forested hills of Lolo National Forest in western Montana, this hilltop pullout rewards the drive with shade, tree cover, and the kind of deep quiet that comes from nearly zero road traffic. Getting here means 30–45 minutes of winding dirt road off the main highway — small rigs and truck campers are well-suited to the approach; larger vehicles should look elsewhere. Cell signal is intermittently available, and a state park with water sits at the base of the mountain if needed.
