Description
The Belt Creek corridor cuts through a wooded valley in the Lewis & Clark National Forest south of the hamlet of Monarch, offering a long string of numbered dispersed sites along FR-120 (Hughesville Road). Fire rings are present at most sites, and the upper stretch of the creek holds water and fish in summer, though the lower reaches often run dry by midsummer. The gravel road draws steady recreational traffic during peak season — dust and passing vehicles are part of the deal — so sites farther from the road entrance tend to be quieter.
