Gillespie Road Dispersed — Lolo NF

The forested ridgeline above the Clark Fork valley in Lolo National Forest holds this wide pullout on Gillespie Road, which rewards the roughly three-mile climb with sweeping views of river bottomland and farmland below — especially striking at sunset. The dirt road in is washboard in stretches and potholed in places but is generally manageable for high-clearance 2WD vehicles and smaller trailers; the narrow, winding character of the road makes it better suited to vans and shorter rigs than to large motorhomes. Cell signal is generally available, and informal fire rings are in place at the main pullout and just below it on the slope.
