Holliday Landing Campground & Marina

With sites accommodating RVs up to 50 feet and full hookups available, Holliday Landing Campground & Marina sits along Wappapello Lake in southeast Missouri. The private campground charges $30-35 per night and accepts reservations. Campers can access sites by driving, walking, or arriving by boat.

Most sites include water and electric hookups, though only the spots farthest from the lake offer sewer connections. Marcella notes that "none of the spots are very far from the lake however." Sites feature picnic tables and fire rings, with firewood available on-site. The bathhouse provides showers and restrooms, though maintenance has been inconsistent according to recent visitors.

The marina includes a boat ramp and docking facilities for those bringing watercraft. Fishing from the dock yields limited results, with better catches available by boat on the main lake. High-speed boat traffic passes frequently during peak hours. The campground maintains level sites with varying amounts of shade, and spacing between sites exceeds what many visitors find at other campgrounds.

For additional camping options in the region, campers can explore campgrounds around Greenville. The property continues under new management focused on improvements, making advance contact recommended to confirm current amenities and services.

Wide Open Spaces!

My parents (from Mississippi) and I (from St. Charles, MO) found this place sort of between us and we sure do love it. The owner Kelly and his whole team were nothing but gracious and hospitable to us the entire weekend. You can tell there's some work to be done on this new venture for Kelly but his heart in it and I can't wait to see how he continues to grow the property. Thanks for having us and we can't wait to come back.

The bath house was clean. The site was huge. There was plenty of firewood when we needed it. The nature was nature'in and the wild was wild'in. Good times.

small quiet campground on lake

Campground was nice and quiet, spots were all maintained. only a few spots farthest away from lake had sewer, the others have water and electric. none of the spots are very far from the lake however. No wi-fi. showers were out of order half of the time. No store as it states on site, only and office but mostly no one there but it was holiday weekend. broken down marina sitting in ruins and what was left of dock didn’t seem too sturdy. Remnants of old gas pump but no marina gas. terrible fishing off of dock, you have to go out on lake. Several high speed boats passing by. Fairly far from any decent sized town but that is not bothersome as that is the point of camping. we enjoyed our stay but we’re disappointed about the showers, restrooms out of repair. Overall a decent campground just dated. grass and sites were kept up well. picnic table and fire pit at all sites.

Quick, easy, clean.

We are staying here overnight on our way to another final destination and this place is super clean and well taken care of. The spaces are not on top of eachother and offer very easy back in parking with proper choices on hookups. We also preferred a not so wooded site and they accommodated us quickly. We wish we were staying another night but definately will be back! The road down the hill is a bit sketch but fun!

4 Star Now - Soon to be 5

Not sure what the backstory of this campground was, but Josh took over in April and you can tell he has put a lot of work into fixing it up.

We stayed in a cabin. We don’t stay in many cabins - usually in an RTT - so I can’t compare what is typical. The weather was wet and windy and we were in the middle of travel days - so we needed a warm, dry, no fuss place to stay. So for us it was just fine. Plus, Josh was great getting us in last minute.

I think the cabins are well suited for a fish camp type stay, but if you are traveling with someone who will be bothered by beat up appliances and bare bones bathroom, this won’t be to their liking.

Next time I stay we will opt for the campsites, which look to be level and better spaced than a lot of campgrounds. Shade varies from spot to spot, with some lacking any.

I’ll also make sure I have a MO fishing license, because I’d love to cast a line here. For people bringing a boat, there is a boat ramp and marina docks and fuel.

Josh seems to take a lot of pride in the place and given more time, I am sure this campground will continue to get even better.

The Mark Twain Forest is a great setting, too, but our dawn departure pictures didn’t really turn out.

Lots of green space and large trees!

My husband and I stayed a night in one of their cabins on our way home from TX.  We let Josh know when we were getting close because it was much later than we had planned.  He had a bonfire waiting for us right outside our cabin!  The cabin was great!  Anything we needed was supplied.  And the birds nesting across the lake were an added bonus! We will be going back for sure.

Quiet, dark, clean, well-kept with easy water access & big campsites.

The Holliday Landing is your fishing paradise, crappie & catfish everywhere on this side of the lake.

They have a marina & gas on the dock, which was helpful and larger spaces than we normally have. They offer firewood, ice & bait and have monthly rates for campgrounds which is hard to find.

Clean, friendly and always the right choice

I love this campground! Josh and Karl are the most friendly hosts. They’ll go out of their way to make sure your stay is wonderful. The cabins are clean, the  marina is well-ran, and the updates to the camp are definitely noticeable. 10/10 will stay here again!
