At Bogue Chitto State Park, visitors will experience a diversity of natural habitats on one of the most dynamic and scenic river systems in Louisiana. The 1,786-acre site includes small streams, cypress-tupelo swamps, a hardwood forest, upland forests and a rolling landscape.

5 Upland cabins overlooking a 90 foot Bluff, RV camping, Conference Center, Group Camp, Picnic Pavilions, Canoe Launch, Amphitheater, Water Playground, Over 6 Miles of Hiking Trails, Access to the Bogue Chitto River, Interpretive area, Fishing Lakes. Water Playground - Louisiana State Parks' water playgrounds operate Tuesdays through Sundays, April 1 through October 31, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; the facilities will be closed on Mondays for cleaning and maintenance. Please contact the park directly, to confirm that the playground is open or for additional information.

Overnight visitors will find accommodations from tent camping (complete with glamping sites) to RV camping to cabins overlooking the bluffs. For larger groups and family reunions, the park offers a group camp and a conference room.

Bring your mountain bike and explore the newly opened 14-miles of single track trails for bikers of all skill levels.

Fricke's Cave, which – despite its name – resembles more of a gorge, possesses delicate sandstone spires created when water erodes the surface underneath pebbles. The pebbles remain perched atop the spires, while over time water splashes on the sandstone surface, forming the two-foot-tall fingers of sandstone that shoot up from the now-lowered surface. Boardwalks have been built so that visitors can admire the sandstone creations from afar, as the formations are too delicate to allow visitors to walk among them.

Fourteen miles of equestrian trails wind through some of the most interesting topography of southern Louisiana, with the trailhead located near Fricke's Cave. A day trip to Bogue Chitto State Park will be a full one, with a river perfect for canoeing or kayaking, 11 lakes stocked with a variety of freshwater fish, a water playground, numerous picnic pavilions and an outdoor classroom.

All You Need is a 111 acre paradise that is home to some VERY unique and endangered habitat. Our northern boundary is a tract of DeSoto National Forest, where we have practically exclusive access to another 90 acres of longleaf pine savannah and more bottomland creeks.

The sandhills are home to prickly pear cactus, deer moss (7 kinds of lichen), and our mascot, the endangered Gopher Tortoise.

We're working to develop a nature education and retreat center where we share permaculture practices, homesteading/sustainable living skills, conservation practices, and approaches to connecting more deeply to the land.

You will have access to and be a 5 minute walk from our many walking paths and our swimming pond, as well as a 15 minute walk to Desoto National Forest, which butts up to our property line.

We would love to have you as our guest on the land, and are especially eager to meet travelers who deeply love nature and want to live in better relationship to it!

Picked this place at the last minute, so glad we did.

This was a great find in the middle of Mississippi on a trip from Hot Springs Village to the beach. Looked to be new and well-kept. Staff was efficient and helpful. Sites were arranged around a lake and level. We would stay here again.

    ‘Bout That Bogue Chitto

We visited Bogue Chitto after torrential rains pummeled Louisiana and Mississippi causing the park to cancel our site we had reserved with a water view in the Bottomland Loop. This really ended up being a blessing in disguise. We were forced to just pick a site when we arrived at the park (not so great for this OCD-Teacher-Planner-Mom), but after only one drive around the Upland Loop, we decided on site 2 and were not disappointed! The site backed up to a trail, and the driver side of the trailer faced a wooded area (instead of a neighboring site) which afforded us much more privacy than any of the other sites would have. Sites 9, 14, and 46 also looked nice with their awnings facing trees instead of other campsites. All sites in this loop had sewer hook ups, so that was nice. There was a concrete pad underneath the fire ring with a lifting grill, a separate grill by the wooden picnic table, and a lantern post. There was a big tent pad close to the fire ring as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed all of the hiking and biking opportunities this campground afforded us. Although the Bottomland area was closed for camping, we still checked things out for future visits. Given the choice between the two loops in the future, I think I’d choose site 2 again. Camp hosts were visible and kept the campground very clean. During our visit, there was a Dutch Oven competition, so the campground was packed.

We only were able to stay here for two nights and left wishing we could have stayed much longer! We will definitely visit Bogue Chitto State Park again.

    Very friendly

Very friendly placed. I camped here during a music festival and it was pretty crowded, but still nice. There is a river there to fish and boat down.

    Peaceful retreat

My husband and I spent three nights here. It was a peaceful stay with a paved walking track and boat ramp. I would stay here again. They were working on improvements and could very well become a four star getaway with a little work. Trash, Bathrooms and bathhouse on-site.

    Amazing First Trip

This campground was an amazing experience for me and my buddy on our first tent camping trip. The primitive camping spot was secluded but not too far from necessities being water and restrooms. The staff was helpful and informative as we were inexperienced in the adventure. All in all this was a site to remember getting to see the sunset on the lake.

    Good times.

First time going. Great place for the kids to go out and play. Ride bikes etc. Only negative is that the beach was over grown by grass and "beware of alligators." Kiddo and dogs had a blast. Will come back!

    Will camp here again

I am a beginning solo tent camper with a lot to learn. Percy Quin is a nice state run campground. Some sites are closer together and less shaded than others. It rained and most sites seem to have decent drainage with no puddles. Not all sites have grills or fire pits. There is a laundry room and the bathrooms next to that are air conditioned-not sure about all of them.

    Large park with many activities

Percy Quin State Park covers a large area. The park includes an 18-hole golf course, a motel, cabins for rent, both camper and primitive camping. There is an area for day use that includes picnic pavilions, a swimming pool, tennis courts, and hiking trail. The park offers a boat launch, marina and a fish cleaning area. The park is a mixture of older and newer buildings. All appear to be well maintained and clean. If full, the park would be an extremely busy place.

    A great place to camp

We have camped at Lake Lincoln several times. Very nice campground with most of the amenities you could want. Very busy campground on holiday weekends. Camped very near the water. Sites are a little closer than I usually like but sites are nice and view of lake is great. We went in spring both times and bank fishing was exceptional. Friendly staff. Very nice campground.

    Loving Lake Lincoln

After this teacher/mom and her kids were sent home from school due to Covid-19, we decided that some time in nature was what we all needed as a family. Our friends and their family joined us, and we headed to Lake Lincoln State Park for a long weekend. Since it was a spur of the moment decision, there were no neighboring sites with a view of the lake to choose from. We ended up at sites 36 and 37 since access to the lake was nearby.

Our sites were very close to one another, so these would be ideal for two people traveling together. If I had not known my neighbors, I would definitely not want to stay on site 36 as its view was a direct view of our friends’ camper and their sewer connection. This did make for some great jokes later. Each site had a picnic table, a concrete pad, and a grill but no fire ring or lantern post. Sewer hook ups were a plus since the bathhouses were all shut down. We set up a tent for our college-aged son just behind the two campsites (an additional charge of $15 per night).

We all loved the amount of shade and seclusion these two sites provided. We felt like we were nestled snuggly into the pines and enjoyed a peekaboo view of the lake, a precious chapel in our “backyard,” and easy access to the lake and beach areas. We used the driver side of site 37 as our communal area for our two families and enjoyed cooking, playing games, sitting around the fire, and listening to music here. Our stay was extremely quiet even with day use visitors coming into the campground to fish and enjoy the beach area. We enjoyed several walks with our dogs touring the campground and hiking the trail. We did tour the campground but didn’t really note any specific sites that tickled our fancy. We did see several that had direct views of the lake we know we would have enjoyed. Our girls enjoyed lounging in the sun on the beach area until it was closed due to mitigation measures. We hung two hammocks easily with the multitude of trees on sites 36 and 37, and few naps were enjoyed in both during our stay. The guys did some fishing but not any catching worth speaking of, much to our dismay. More than anything, we ate well and laughed lots during our stay which is more than anyone can hope for in a vacation.

Overall, this trip cured our cabin fever during an unprecedented time in our world’s history, and we made more great memories with our dearest friends. We loved Lake Lincoln and hope to visit again in the future. Hopefully, we can do some fishing AND catching the next time around.

Back at lake Lincoln after 25+ years

I came here once when we were kids, nothing popped out to me then as a kid.

Recently stayed there with my kids mostly because of nostalgia, my kids kinda had the same meh 😐 reaction.

Has a playground, swimming area was closed though.

This is another good park to come to if you're into fishing.

Bathhouses could use a remodle or painting. Had to explain to my youngest why there are pics of male genitalia etched into the restroom stall walls. Some graffiti was dated several years old.

    Over all good

Nice campground. We stayed in back loop by lake. Sites were very narrow, no privacy, everyone is on top of each other. The site next to us had sewer hook up right on side of our picnic table. Lots of flies but no mosquitoes!

    Normal State park

The park is clean and well kept. The place started quite and was completely full . There are updates needs in the bathhouses. There is also no hand soap . Otherwise we’ll maintained. Nice lake! The place seems to be a favorite spot for the La. People. The beach needs to be reworked. We will come back soon .

    Loved it!

This was our first time camping using our popup. We set it up with ease and enjoyed a weekend vacation. It was my husband’s first time ever camping. We were both astonished with the vacation feel of camping. We had a great time and our fur babies have slept the past two days since we’ve been back. They played so hard and we hiked a lot! The only negative side was a street light righttttt above us, all in all we loved it and can’t wait to go back.

    Quiet and Pretty

A great family atmosphere. Sites were roomy. Electric and water. Dump station available. Did not see the park host, but we reserved online. Bathrooms were clean (except the corners had cobwebs). Hiking, biking, and kayaking. We were at site 64, which is directly on the lake. Concrete pad, that was pretty level. 25 dollars a night.

    Beautiful MS State Park

We enjoyed fishing and kayaking on the lake. The campground is very scenic with lake views. My one and only complaint is we had a street light right above our camper so we couldn’t see the stars well at night while sitting around our campfire. I had good Verizon cell service. AT&T and TMobile had no service and the Starlink worked pretty well even with the trees obstructing. Ms Patsy that works in the office was super helpful and friendly. We will definitely consider camping here again.

    Not a bad stay.

Overall the stay wasn’t bad. The staff was pleasant and the area and lake is very nice. The restrooms were awful and it looks like the maintenance crew don’t check them regularly. The campsite is getting a make over in September so this may account for the apathy towards these facilities. No camp store but I was told this is coming next year.

Would be great if not for the rain

Unfortunately our trip was clouded by the rain...pun intended.  As is typical for the Gulf Coast South... it rained and rained and rained.  There were breaks that allowed for us to get out and do a few things.  We went to the "beach" and the kids enjoyed it.  Dont think of the beach as the typical sandy beaches on coasts, instead this is a lake beach with grass.  Under water though was fine.  Quite clean and no debris.

There is a pool also, but it was closed at the time because of coronavirus.  Hopefully if we go back, it will be open then.

This particular site was very close to the water, which is why we chose it, however immediately next to our camper was a very steep drop off which made it impossible to set up our camper mat and outdoor cooking supplies next to our outdoor kitchen.  We wouldn't choose that site again.
