Shockaloe Base Camp I Camping is located near Forest, Mississippi, within the Bienville National Forest. The area features flat terrain with dense forest cover. Campers can experience temperatures ranging from 30°F in winter to 90°F in summer, and nearby attractions include the scenic trails of the Bienville National Forest and the Roosevelt State Park.

There are two base camps associated with Shockaloe Horse Trail: Base Camp I and Base Camp II. Each base camp has a pavilion and an open area for parking.
Camping is only permitted at Base Camp I.
Camping is not permitted at Base Camp II.
Have at least two adults in your party. Park trucks and trailers in spaces provided. Keep all facilities clean. Carry first aid supplies with each party. Be careful crossing roads. No public telephones available. Wearing orange/bright colored clothing during deer hunting season is recommended.

Directions
From Forest, MS, at the intersection of State Rt. 35 and US Rt. 80, take Rt. 80 west for 5.2 miles to a National Forest Trail sign (Forest Rt. 513). Turn right onto Rt. 513 (gravel) and go 0.2 miles to campground on right.
