Shockaloe Base Camp I Camping

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Bienville National Forest's Shockaloe Base Camp I sits on open terrain managed by the US Forest Service, with drive-in and walk-in access available from April through October. Water and restroom facilities have been reported as inconsistently available, so campers should pack in everything they need. One notable factor: a train passes through once or twice overnight, which can interrupt sleep. Cell service is listed as available. Caney Creek on Forest Road 503 and other pet-friendly campgrounds around Bienville National Forest give campers additional options if this site doesn't fit the plan.

Secluded and pretty, but slightly noisy!

Stopped here for one night and it was lovely. No need to pay the 7$, since you probably won’t see anybody here. The toilets were locked and no water, so bring everything you need. Had a great night’s sleep except for the super loud train that runs past once or twice in the night. Worth it for a great free spot!

Excellent place to spend a few days!

We had a wonderful time here with absolutely no one else. Nestled in the Bienville National Forrest with lost of other options to camp. The national Forrest some time offers the privacy and seclusion on wants. If this is something you seek definitely come here. The ride out is a little ruff. Pack in pack out. There is a restroom and water. ENJOY!
