Overview
Northern Sites Campground is a family-owned private campground located at 1862 River Rd in Beaverton, Michigan (Gladwin County), situated directly along the Cedar River. The campground offers roughly 40–45 sites ranging from primitive tent sites to modern sites with 30/50-amp electric and water hookups, catering to tent campers, RV travelers, and groups. It is open approximately May 1 through November 30.
Facilities
Sites include 30 and 50-amp electric hookups with water hookups available on select sites. A bathhouse with showers is on-site along with portable restrooms on both levels of the campground and three drinking water stations. A general store is available for supplies, and firewood is delivered directly to sites. Dumpsters are located at either end of the campground. Both angled back-in and pull-through RV site configurations are available.
Recreation
Two sandy beach areas along the Cedar River offer swimming. Kayak and inner tube rentals are available (Thursday–Sunday; by appointment Monday–Wednesday) with a drop-in point upstream. Fishing is available in the Cedar River. A small playground is on-site, and volleyball is available as a seasonal activity. The campground hosts themed weekend events throughout the season including holiday weekends and a Halloween Spooktacular.
