    Excellent camping

This is the second time staying in these campgrounds in two weeks. Both times stayed in the more wilderness area D with lots of trees and sites for tents or back-in trailers. The grounds are huge with bike/hike trails, a lake and a disc golf course. Mountain biking seems to be very popular there are dirt trails off the paved hiking loop. Sites have electricity and water and are well spaced out.

    Group camping for Sukkot

We had a large group of families with varying ages and abilities.  We used multiple different styles of cabins and a few RV sites, as well as various buildings for activities.  All in all, it was an incredible time and I highly recommend it.  Staff was helpful with activities such as archery but, seldom seen if not directly helping with things.  It was nice to feel like we had the run of the place but, still know that help was available if we needed it.  The location is pretty great, off the beaten path but, within 30 minutes of major stores and conveniences.
Laundry facilities would have been awesome since we were staying a full week but, there was a laundromat only about 15 minutes away.
The food selection was about what you'd expect in a public school cafeteria and resulted in health-minded guests needing to make their own meals in the cabins and meals were VERY rushed, only allowing 30 minutes for our large group to get their food, eat and be out of the building.
The grounds were well maintained for a rustic campground but, bathrooms and meeting buildings were adequately upgraded and offered pleasant amenities, such as a game room, large gym and decent air conditioning.

We had a great time here and look forward to returning one day!

    OK for last minute trips.

I have stayed here over 100 times in past thirty years. Front camp sites are better than back. Staff are friendly. The only rude person here is the camp store owner. Fishing is great, boat, kayaks, trails for everyone. If it rains everything is mud if your in the back camp section.

A great getaway that's not too far

A very quiet campground. The sites are spread out and only 2 vehicles per site are allowed. The East campground is more open and had 3 small cabins that can be rented. The West camping is more wooded and isolated. An extensive horse back riding trail system and MTB trails are easily accessible.

Great spot for weekend camping with the family

We camped here in our Coleman Lantern over Labor Day Weekend 2023. It was busy but everyone was respectful of one another. The community restrooms, dump station, and dumpsters were well maintained throughout the weekend. The camping store was well stocked for all of the things we forgot to pack but was expensive. The park is extremely sandy so be prepared. Overall it was a quiet, peaceful weekend in a great location. We will definitely be back!

    Fun Lake, small trees

Sand Lake was our spot and the water was breath taking - it’s a small pond really, but great for kayaking. Crystal clear, clean water, a good public beach. Our site had “private” access and our boys just played in the water for three days.

    Clean bathrooms and showers.

Trees and covered areas were skimpy - trees were still young.

The campground itself was a small loop; so not so much bike/scootering unless the kids like a big circle.

    Nice Michigan State Park

Camped here opening weekend of 2022 (April 29). Nice park with several sites for our bigger rig. Leveling would be more of the challenge. But, we eventually got to 145 which was pretty good and very doable from leveling Stand point. Large well kept grassy site. Nice fire ring. No water or sewer at site but fill and dump available in park. Our Verizon WiFi coverage was good as was our TMobile. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Seemed there to serve. We experienced no issues with our 30 amp (20 & 30 only available). Didn’t need air conditioning but electric heat was our main heat source and worked fine.

    Great spot

We love coming to Addison Oaks. It is a quick drive from home. But a great little get away spot. Very convenient now also with online booking.

    I think it's a pretty good campground!

I would go there for a weekend, or even a night to just get away from the Rick raff of work and stuff. I think it's very well maintained! You hear people say they are dissatisfied about this, or dissatisfied about that. It's a CAMPGROUND people! Not a hotel! If you want to be catered to; go stay in a hotel! I think this campground is one of the best I've stayed in! People should learn to be thankful, for the amenities that they're given. It's quiet there, it's more peaceful than HOME. You hear people complain about their time at campgrounds, but only a few people tell how good of an experience they've had! I think it was great there!! I'm going again!!

    Addison Oaks County Park

A little slice of wilderness in the siburbs

Always a great local retreat away from our hectic daily life. Don’t have to travel far to find some nature. Most sites generously sized, hookups available, clean restrooms. Nice updated playgrounds for the kids, trails to bike, planned activities on weekends. Only wish there was a swimming lake, but alas, only for fishing and canoeing.

Great waypoint when camping across the UP

Vibe: Woodland getaway with no flash and really nice sites.

Cleanliness: Sites are above average. Vault toilets are…vault toilets.

Facilities: Nothing flashy. Wish there was a few additional water filling points and that the dumpsters were all located near the camp entrance/exit. But really nothing to complain about.

General spots: Large, very well treed, gravel, picnic table and fire ring.

Privacy: Can see neighbors through sites, but better privacy than most places.

Our site: 39. Could drive circles around inside it. Even has a tree in the middle of it with room to drive all the way around it(not with a trailer). Depending where you set up your rig, you may need an extra long extension cord.

Noise: Quiet. Occasionally hear wolves howling. Cell signal(Verizon): 1 bar. No internet loads. Text messages will send and receive. Sometimes immediately, sometimes hours later. Other: Wish we had a chance to explore the lakes. Sounds like the swimming and fishing is good. Saw several kids on bikes toting rods.

Toto I don't think we in Kansas anymore

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Other campers were also very friendly and helpful...We didn't get to experience much of the campground because we were only there long enough to set the camper up and really it wasn't even fully up when a tornado went through. Campground was basically not navigateable by foot or car. The beach had already been closed because of water conditions. The pads for campers seemed on the narrow side my small camper barely fit on it. I never made it to the rest rooms or showers to say anything about them.... It looked like the camp is well maintained when we got there but ......wellll....They did give refunds to everyone because they ended up closing the camp to clean up the mess

    Nice sites close to home

Close to the house if I need a quick camping fix. Very clean restrooms and hot showers. The campsites on the hilltop used to be our favorite in the fall. They put cabins on them last year which for us is disappointing. Lots of trails throughout. Have even hiked in from the beach to camp for a night.

    Friendly? Spacious lots of activities

We stayed in area A in a water/electric site. It was a Boo Fest weekend. Lots of socially distanced activities for the kids and a scavenger hunt (finding clues on signs in park to solve a mystery). There 26 miles of bike trails and hiking. Many in park are paved. Also a disc golf course. Sites in our area were spacious.

Park was clean, guests well behaved, staff helpful. We will be back

Omg great family / kids time to unplug!!

Tenting at its finest... brother his wife and 5 kids my husband at the time and 4 kids reserved a group area and had a blast teaching and showing those who had never camped how fun it could be!! No cell/internet service but that was perfect!! Great time to unplug and just enjoy our surroundings and begin to learn our own creativity! Learned how to ensure food was safe and tucked away from coons along with the good ole fashion porta potties .... nothing Lysol can can’t fix there but with a total of 8 males (6 being under 18....) always have a can of Lysol when porta potties were in our future lol Definitely would go back when ready for a”rustic” camping event!

    Busy busy busy

Nice family/ Christian campgrounds... ok for those who care not enjoy alcohol beverages while vacationing, great activities set up for the kids. Clean and cautious due to Covid as necessary. Definitely recommend to families w kids that are on the conservative side and would like to keep their faith religiously on sundays with service and etc. As well as always being actively filled. Had my step daughters 8th grade graduations done two years in a row there at their auditorium as well.

    Camping close to home

Clean campground and well maintained. Two different loops to choose from for camping. Only drawback is the distance from the lake. The lake is not within walking distance, you would need to drive.

Great stay, great place to re-up

Friendly staff, clean park, close to supermarkets and other food locations. RV repair and sales nearby. I got lucky and woke up to a horse and dog competition at no extra cost to me.
