Within Manistee National Forest, Logmark Rest Stop provides primitive camping along the Pere Marquette River through the US Forest Service. This boat-in, hike-in, or walk-in campground requires some effort to reach, making it less crowded than roadside alternatives.
The riverside location puts campers directly on the water for fishing, paddling, or simply listening to the current. With minimal development, visitors should come prepared with all necessary supplies. For those wanting full amenities and easier access, Ludington East/ Pere Marquette River KOA sits just over two miles east with standard RV hookups and facilities.
Description
This site is canoe-in only and is very popular during fall and steelhead season. The banks of the river are steep on either side of this site.
