Cloud Crossing Campground is a beautiful bottomland area timbered with large hardwoods and pines that is directly adjacent to Saline Bayou National Wild and Scenic River. The terrain is flat with brushy areas that provide seclusion for some camping sites. Cloud Crossing is an ideal put-in/take-out point for boating or canoeing on Saline Bayou. Visitors to the campground will find picnicking units, a pavilion with barbecue pit, shaded campsites with grill/fire rings, lantern hooks, and tables, trash containers, and restrooms. A launch ramp suitable for small trailered boats and other small watercraft is available.
Not bad for a small area, great for kayaking and hiking. But due to the recent hurricanes the hiking trail was closed and a bit of trees was down in the bayou. But over all couldn’t be happier with a small get away from the world.
Good camp ground along the Saline Bayou Scenic River Corridor. Included pull-up spots, restrooms, boat/kayak launch and a decent little 6 mile trail.
Free public access small boat launch on to Saline Bayou at the campground. One end of the hiking trail along bayou is very close to the campground. Bathroom bldg. at campground has pit toilets only, not flush toilets. Campsites have fire rings and picnic tables. No electrical hook-up. First come - first serve, no reservations.
