Truly A Hidden Gem

This was our second time camping here and we loved it just as much as the first! We stayed on Wheatgrass loop site #57. The sites are huge! This back-in site was easily 50-60ft long. Water and electric hookups were conveniently located and the site was mostly level side to side. And that view! chefs kiss

Now for the downsides, and this isn’t something to fault the park for, but more of a campground etiquette thing: because this site is on the way to both the nearby beach and the trash dumpsters, other campers were constantly walking through our site. Something to be mindful of if you decide to camp on this loop, but it wouldn’t stop me from camping here. We will definitely be back!!

Beautiful lake views

This campground has 51 sites at $21 per night. Each site has electric, water, picnic table, and fire ring. The outside loop sites are pull through with beautiful lake views. The inner loop is back in sites with a view of the lake but nothing like the outside one. This area has few trees for shade and unfortunately no wind break. There is a swimming beach and a small fishing hole for kids. We camped at site 45 and 46 and had a small beach area that we could put our kayaks in. We had a beautiful view of the water and rolling hills. Each time we opened our door we instantly saw the lake and for most of the time it felt as if we were the only ones there. One thing that frustrated us was that the sites were either reserved or said One Day Only and there was no one at the camp host spot, the booth, or the office so we had to keep moving.

Beautiful

Great place to camp for the night or multiple days. We had a great view of the lake. Has a grill/fire pit and a picnic table. Only downside was the bathroom/shower facility. One toilet was clogged and they other did not stop flushing. The showers were ok, just be prepared for only cold water. Other then that I would recommend for the lake/hiking/biking trails. Really easy to find. There’s a gas station about 5-6 miles away that closes at 10pm. Past that about a mile is a grocery store called Wilson Family Foods where I bought some breakfast necessities. Enjoy!

Update

Went to another shower facility and water was great, not too hot, not too cold. All toilets were clean. Highly recommend this place.
