Cedar Bluff State Park - North Shore is located near Cedar Bluff Reservoir in Kansas. The terrain consists of open spaces and scattered trees, providing a setting for camping. Temperatures range from lows in the 20s Fahrenheit during winter to highs in the 90s in summer. Nearby attractions include Cedar Bluff Reservoir for fishing and boating, as well as hiking trails in the surrounding area.

Construction of Cedar Bluff Reservoir began in April of 1949 with the intention of providing flood control, irrigation and recreational opportunities. The reservoir was completed in 1951 and filled that same year. This Bureau of Reclamation owned reservoir, which is managed by the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism, quickly became a popular destination. The reservoir and surrounding public lands provided many opportunities which previously had been non-existant to this region. In 1962, Cedar Bluff State Park was developed to accommodate the public by providing outdoor recreational facilities and improved opportunities. Cedar Bluff State Park continues to thrive today, annual visitation is consistently over the 250,000 mark. Cedar Bluff State Park is divided into two, unique areas along the shorelines of Cedar Bluff Reservoir. The Bluffton Area on the north shore provides nearly 350 acres for visitors and provides a variety of facilities to meet the outdoor enthusiasts needs. The Bluffton Area includes: two boat ramp facilities, fish cleaning station, 97 two utility campsites to include a reservable group campground, and 22 three utility campsites; two community shelters, three playgrounds including one electronic interactive game, three showerhouses, two trailer dumpstations, six rental cabins and numerous undesignated primitive campsites and picnic areas. Be sure to enjoy some of the additional amenities and opportunities which include sand volleyball, horseshoes, archery range, shore-side basketball, bicycling on our BMX track or relaxing at the designated beach area. Fishing can also be fantastic from the park's shores. The Bluffton Area includes a covered, handicap accessible fishing dock along with a youth and disabled fishing pond. The Page Creek Area, on the south shore of the reservoir, is nearly 500 acres in size. It is not quite as developed but provides some of the finest primitive camping in the state with it's large shade trees and sandy shorelines. The Page Creek Area provides 36, two utility campsites, 1 three utility campsite, a large community shelter, two trailer dumpstations, one boatramp, two showerhouses and two restroom facilities; one designated, two campgrounds with designated primitive campsites and numerous other primitive sites. While hunting is not allowed in the Bluffton Area, it is allowed in the Page Creek Area. This area is a favorite for boaters, jet skiers, hunters and for those who seek a little more solitude when relaxing outdoors.

You must be 18 or older to rent a cabin or campsite.

- Subject to regulations and posted notices, any individual over 21 may possess, consume, or drink alcoholic liquor. Kegs are strictly prohibited.
- Electric and gas powered scooters and skateboards cannot be operated in the state park. ATV use is prohibited in the state park.
- Camping is allowed only in designated areas and is subject to restrictions as posted. All campers and camping units are limited to a stay of not more than 14 consecutive days although a 14-day extension may be obtained with written permission from the park manager. A five-day absence is required before returning to the park to camp again. Any property left unused or unoccupied for 48 hours is subject to removal. Only one camper/RV per utility site is allowed.
- Fires are allowed in fireplaces, fire rings, and cooking grills only. Fires must be completely extinguished prior to leaving the area. 
- Swimming is allowed in designated areas. Liquor and beer are prohibited on swimming beaches or in waters designated by buoys or other markers as swimming areas. For other beverages, only shatterproof containers are allowed. 
- Pets must always be restrained by a camper, cage, hand-held leash, or tethered chain no longer than 10 feet. They are not allowed on swimming beaches or swimming areas that are delineated by buoys or other markers or in public buildings or structures. Dogs participating in authorized activities or assisting the visually or hearing impaired are not subject to these restrictions. 
- Fishing is prohibited on boat ramps, courtesy docks, swimming beaches, and in swimming areas marked with buoys. In state parks, fish may only be cleaned at designated fish cleaning stations or other locations as posted. 
- Boats may not be operated within 200 feet of any area posted specifically for swimming and delineated by markers. No-wake speeds are required within 200 feet of a boat ramp, boat dock. Vessels left unattended at courtesy docks are subject to removal. 
- Fireworks are prohibited. 
- Litter must be put in trash containers, if provided. Where containers are not provided, park users must carry their trash out with them. 
- Digging holes, removing or defacing geological formations, archeological relics or ruins, or vegetation (except for noncommercial use of edible wild plants, wild fruits, nuts, or fungi) is prohibited. 
- Quiet hours are 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Actions which alarm, anger, or disturb others are prohibited. Generators can not be used during quiet hours. Failure to comply may result in expulsion from the park. 
- Firearms may only be discharged in areas specifically designated for hunting or target practice.
- DUMPING OF GREY WATER IS PROHIBITED. Grey water must be disposed of at the dump station.
- Cabin renters may check in after 3:00pm and check out by Noon everyday, year round. No Smoking or Pets in cabins. Cabin renters are not allowed to grill or cook from the porch deck. The cabin must be clean prior to departure. Cabin renters shall be responsible for full payment of any damages incurred during the length of stay. Damages will be billed to the renter for payment.

Family fun!

This state park has two sections: the north shore (Bluffton) which has a large campground and is more developed and the south shore (Page Creek) area. This review is for Bluffton which has five loops, and each has different plusses and minuses. Broken down by loop:

• Butterfield has a bath/shower house and the largest variety of activities (archery range, BMX track, playground, and an interesting game called Neos 360 which is part electronic game and part competitive sport, suitable for all ages. Pads were either gravel or paved and most of the sites were labeled prime (extra$2.50 per night April-September)

• Arapahoe: no bathhouse but located not too far from Butterfield’s. All pads were concrete and appeared to have recently been redone. All sites were labeled prime (see Butterfield)

• Wagon Rut: no bathhouse so more suitable for fully contained RVs. Many are large pull-through non-prime sites.

• Broken Spur: group campground with a picnic shelter, volleyball, separate gravel pads with electric hookups.

• Overland: this loop is closest to the lake and where you would want to be if fishing. There is a fish cleaning station right outside the loop and this is the only other loop with a bath/shower house. Pads are a mixture of paved and gravel. There is a boat ramp and a nice playground and all sites are labeled prime (see Butterfield)

• Additionally, beyond Arapahoe, there are more unlabeled and undeveloped sites (Despatch and Honii). 

  

The office was closed when we arrived and the self-check-in process was a bit confusing and cumbersome. Each loop has different prices (and some have different prices within the same loop) and then you have to add the prime fee if applicable in addition to the $5 per day vehicle fee. Cash or checks and fortunately, we had the correct change. The skeeters will eat you alive and the mourning doves will wake you up in the morning. One thing I really appreciated was the recycling of propane canisters. I imagine this place would be hopping during the summer and on weekends but on a Tuesday in September, it was blissfully peaceful and quiet.

Great concrete pads with easy in and out. water and 20,30,50 electric. Solid restroom facilities as well as recreational activities. Not a lot of groceries or gas nearby plan accordingly.

Stopped by in Nov at 11pm. Self pay. Power hookup and dump site. Great spot. 

Nov trip

Mostly big rigs, camped there in a van. Hookups were good. Sites spacious but not very private, we were lucky to get one on the edge. Lake is nothing special and no hiking trails or anything, seemed to be mostly boating or fishing.

Very quiet mid-week in May, which was lovely. The bathrooms suck and I saw a copperhead right by the bathhouse so be careful.

This is a beautiful campground with kind camp hosts. I would recommend to anyone passing through Kansas to rest here@

Beautiful Place

Dispatch Campground. Awesome Lakeview dispersed campsites. Some are near the sandy beach.  Unfortunately the lake water has receded dramatically.  There is a large now unused boat and vehicle parking lot however the dock is lying on the dirt. The lawn is manicured.  At&amp;t signal is 3/5. Flush toilets and showers are nearby. Garbage bins, dump stations and fish stations too. Only one camper. 

Awesome lakeside view campsites

Roonii Campsite. Unbelievable dispersed camping. Some have cement umbrella like shelter. There are cabins and full RV hookup sites too..  nice shower house with individual room one for women and one for men.  Garbage bin, fish preparation table, dump station and water nearby. Nice receded lake views. Little windy. Full hookups are popular. Cabins and dispersed camping sites are empty. Cools down nicely at night.
