Description
Along the dry bed of the Cimarron River in the Cimarron National Grassland of southwest Kansas, this dispersed spot sits tucked into cottonwood-lined terrain just east of KS-27, with a Santa Fe Trail overlook less than a mile to the north. Access comes via Forest Service Road 798 (Turkey Trail Road) or through the Cottonwood Picnic Area — both are manageable in a sedan or SUV, though FR 798 has sandy stretches and a low-hanging cottonwood that warrants attention for taller rigs. Some highway noise carries from KS-27, and modest cell service is available.
