Saulsbury Bridge Rec Area - Cedar River Campground is located near the Cedar River in Iowa. The terrain consists of flatlands and riverbanks, providing a natural setting for camping. Nearby attractions include Wildcat Den State Park and the Muscatine Art Center, offering opportunities for hiking and cultural exploration.

Saulsbury Bridge Recreation Area has three campgrounds each managed under a self-registration system. Campsites cannot be reserved.

Firewood is available in the main campground for a fee. No out-of-state firewood is allowed in MCCB areas.

Campsites have picnic tables, fire rings, and on-site parking. Tent camping only sites (Area A Chicken Creek) do not have on-site parking. Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis only.

The Best Camping Near West Liberty, Iowa

CG has primitive sites along Cedar River including tables and fire rings. Boat ramp, shelter, pit toilets in cg. Firewood available in main cg along with showers and playground. CG host is in main cg. Trails run through area of bottom land forest and prairie.

There are sites along the river, while others are larger tucked along the woods and not close to each other.  Perfect get away.  15-20 minutes to the closest town.

Peaceful and close to a town

The sites are spaced apart well and clean with a beautiful view of the Cedar River.  If you camp on the riverside campground be sure to bring a bike or extra vehicle if you camp on the far end because the bathrooms are  bit of a walk.  And bring a grate with you for your fire ring as some have them and some don’t.  All and all it was an enjoyable stay with a fantastic view, even caught a few fish since our campsite was literally on the river edge
