Fishing and kayaking draw campers to Criss Cove County Park, where gravel sites sit on a hill overlooking a small lake in Madison County. The access road runs rough, so drivers should come prepared. No dump station, no showers, and no camp host on site. Campers report muggy, buggy conditions near the water, especially in summer. Electric and water hookups are available, and cell service reaches the sites. Pammel County Park gives anglers and paddlers another option in the same county, while those wanting more amenities can browse camping near Winterset for additional choices.
