Too much drinking and loud music

Dont go here if you expect peace and quiet. We were in a group campsite and there were partiers on both sides of us. Music blaring and yelling all night long. Complaining doesn't do any good either. Park ranger just went and said quiet time was at 10 but never came back around at night to check to see if people were abiding by the rules.  Won't be going back. Too much money to spend only to have to put up with no sleep because of loud music and drunks.

        Camp sites are tiny

Camp sites are tiny. We had site 88 and it was supposed to be full shade. It was full sun and they have it set up so the camp side of the trailer faces the road. The fire pit is also three feet from the road. Who wants to have a fire next to the road?

        Lush green heaven

This place is off the beaten path by a lot, but it's so serene and beautiful. The non-electric site was almost all real primitive campers. There were tons of trees nearby for privacy and hammocking. There wasn't cell service in the non-electric area, but a walk to the main area/electric sites gave you service. There's some pretty cool trails in the woods and the sun too. Only real bad thing were the raccoons; they were an absolute menace. They started creeping out of the woods and in the fields around 7:00, a full 2 hours before sunset. Be vigilant with your food! Otherwise it's paradise

Nice but hard to get good sites on weekends !

Limited level campground with full and electric hookups (does have WiFi). Best areas are A (full hookups and B (electric hookups) with concrete pads, some with slight slopes. First sites #s on A side do have larger slopes! C through E are electric only but are hilly grass pads. Other areas are back in the woods with no WiFi connections and primitive bathrooms/ outhouses (no showers) But park has great recreational activities. Book early for weekends which are almost non existent during the summer for A and B areas! Also only one dump station in B area.

        Good trails

We enjoyed our stay here. The park has great trails for hiking and biking. The bison exhibit and ranger programs are great too. The campsites are variable, size and privacy definitely depends on the site you book. The potable water is brown and smelly.. be sure to bring your water filter! But we did enjoy our weekend here.

        Very nice campground

We had a lovely overnight stay when we went midweek. I imagine that the weekends are much busier. The showers are very clean and well-maintained. The camp store carries the basics. Although we didn't take advantage of the ranger programs, several looked interesting. We would go back again!

        not our style

we stayed at this campground on a recommendation from a friend. it was insanely crowded, very small sites. children riding bikes everywhere made driving a bit scary. we did manage to find some trails and escape the crowds for the afternoon but we’re not impressed enough to return.

        Holiday weekend

This campground is in a state park just north of Brookville lake. In fact you can access Brookville lake from the park. The campground is clean. Standard sized campsites. I believe most of the campsites are electric of which there are 330 individual sites. The restrooms and showers were clean. However, I believe there were only two bathroom/shower houses on the property. Not a whole Lotta area for Bank fishing so if you went fishing it was usually crowded. You could rent canoes or boats at $10 per hour. I spent a lot of my time on the hiking trails of which there are several. They are well marked and well traveled.

        Westwood Park

        Beautiful park

Westwood is a beautiful well manicured park. The restrooms are very clean. The campsites are, I would say, normal size maybe a little cramped. Enough to park two cars in each site. It’s a small campground with around 33-38 camp sites and it’s first come first serve. No reservations. The lake is nice. Lots of small bass. If you have a boat, trolling motors only. Bank fishing is limited from what I walked but plenty of places you can fish. There is a 10 mile hiking / biking trail all the way around the lake. There are horse riding trails too. I will visit again.

        Average

The park is great for hunting and has a few good spots to fish. The hiking trails are often over grown and not very challenging. There are quite a few camping areas and a great day camp for events.

        Great weekend getaway

We booked 5 days before and were pleasantly surprised at how good of a site we had. Pretty level, plenty of room for our 43’ fifth wheel. We didn’t swim but the beach looked nice. We did fish a little.

Busy, fun atmosphere this weekend but quiet enough in our area. We stayed across from the playground in Loop B and it felt less crowded because we were across from a field. Plenty of trees for shade. Beautiful area.

Brookville Lake - Mounds State Recreation Area

        Nice but bathrooms need updated

The campground and area is nice. The campers are pretty much all about the water activities. The big lake is nice and long with multiple no wake areas. There are a couple of beach areas. The camp bathrooms are concrete block and pretty clean but old and need updates. Great shower pressure! The camp sites are pretty far apart at least twice as far as in private campgrounds and so have ample room even for our two good sized dogs. The sites are black topped but narrow and short. More problematic is that most have slopes. A few too steep to level a trailer. There were more tent campers than trailer campers when we were there. Oddly the roads were one way but all of the sites were at 90 degrees from the narrow road making it difficult to back in. I did not see any pull through sites. Almost all have 30 amp electric but saw no water or sewer hook ups. Maybe half of the sites had any shade. There were just a few trails and those were pretty overgrown in July. No animal problems even though they had open trash bins. All had iron fire pits but many were old. We had noise problems the first night even though security was supposed to patrol till 2:00 am. We saw three newer playgrounds although those were a little outside of the camping areas and without any shade or bathrooms. Plenty of bathhouses with a few pit toilets around.

Great place to stay, just watch your reservation

Hueston Wood, a real gem. The park is about 3000 acres with a beautiful sailing / fishing lake. There is a beautiful lodge and golf course, archery range, and plenty of hiking paths and equestrian paths.

The biggest issue for us was the description of the site at C36 was nothing like the description. We approached the staff in the office and they expressed no concern in helping us. One camping family left due to the office staff's attitude.

Ok, now for the positive! We met one of the volunteers, Gary, who was able to find us a site to hold our 34 foot motorhome. He made our July 4th weekend, couldn't have been more accomodating.

Sites have 30A electric and there is plenty of potable water available around the campground, just not at the site. Each site has a fire ring and a picnic table. At the A and B loop there was plenty of space around the site to spread out.

The dump station is fairly new and can accommodate 2 RV's. Though most site are grass, some have gravel, but the A loop sites are full hookup and concrete or paved (but not all flat). When setting reservation and with an RV over 20ft, shoot for A or B loop.

The grounds are just beautiful, hiking trails great but not all marked well. A place we will return.

we camped at Hueston Woods this past weekend. The weather was great and the campsite was awesome. Luckily we have been here before, so we know what campsites to grab when booking. We decided to golf on Saturday because it was a little too cold to go to the beach. The golf course is awesome and the staff was really nice.
