Nice clean and convenient

Family owned with a nice little fishing area (no license required catch and release) paddle boats and camp store. A nice pool with a big covered pavilion, clean restrooms and showers with hot water. We had a level pull thru gravel site with a picnic table and small fire ring and didn’t have to unhook for our overnight. Walking/hiking wooded trails 2 cabins available- several seasonal folks. We were there on a Sunday evening and didn’t really see anyone. Little bit of road noise but so convenient! Thanks Barb!

Brownstown, IL…Beautiful place

Lovely park a with lots of trees and green grass. Site hookups we’re all good. Space was long and wide for our 42’ 5th wheel. Only reason I gave it 4 stars was I really needed to do laundry and it was out of service. I think they are in the process of updating as they just redid the bathroom floors and she indicated that the new appliances hadn’t come in yet for the laundry room.

Clean, cute, accomodating

We called the morning of our stay to make an overnight reservation as we were just passing through. She was very nice and was able to accommodate. The office is open until 7. Pool hours are 9am-7pm. There’s a very nice updated playground and a pond with a walking path around it.

The place is very well taken care of. If we ever came back this way we would stay again.

Clean and quiet

Nice pool. Nothing fancy, just right. Stayed one night while passing through. Kids liked the slides in the playground.

Wonderful stop over!

Stayed three nights instead of the one that I initially reserved. Open and peaceful during the week, especially back section where trees and more privacy. Very large pond/ sm lake and nice shorter hikes. Very friendly owner/manager who made sure all needs met Nice pool. Everything clean

SiteB 10 ( though would have preferred back in space across , still nice )

Very Convenient!

This campground is very convenient if you’re looking for a quick stay during a trip. It’s just a short hop off the highway, yet the road noise wasn’t bad. Barb, one of the owners was very helpful and nice. The ground was very squishy due to melted snow and a lot of rain. And Barb apologized for that, even though it’s not her fault. Did not use the facilities. It’s big rig friendly and has pull through sites.

Very disappointed

We stopped here because it was right off the highway and had great reviews! However, upon arrival, the woman working in the office was INCREDIBLY rude to me and made me feel very uncomfortable. I’m guessing this was due to my appearance- it was hot and I was wearing shorts and I have tattoos. Anyway she proceeded to tell me that we weren’t allowed a tent site because we were car camping. I told her we don’t use electric or water, we have our own, and she told me we couldn’t stay unless we paid for an electric hookup site. So we did, the site was about 10 ft wide and covered in the sharpest gravel in the world, all dusty white. The gravel dust got on EVERYTHING and was hideous and so hard to park and walk on. I would never stay here again, I’d rather sleep in a Walmart parking lot.

Last minute stop

We needed a one night stop and found this great place!! Family owned and they do a wonderful job of taking care of the customers. I would stay here longer, there is swimming, fishing, short hiking trails and is very quiet.

Crazy Convenient Overnight Spot

This place was a godsend. I called frantically searching for a space in late November and was greeted by a lovely person who got me all set up over the phone. She had me call as I was approaching and came down and met me at the office to check me in. It had water (with defroster on the podium), sewer and functional electric. Unfortunately the weather was garbage and I didn’t get to explore the lake but it was a great experience none the less.

Great Stop-off

We stopped here on our way home for one night, but got in early enough to enjoy a walk and have a camp fire that evening. Small park but very long, narrow pull through sites on the full hook up side, there were some smaller water/electric sites that looked to be more of a parking lot that sites, but well spaced out and adequate. The camp host was very friendly and the camp store was well stocked.

Perfect stop!

Barb and Gary were the most accommodating hosts! We had called 2 hours out, on our way from Ohio to Arkansas, and they met our every need; even on such short notice! Perfect stop off of I70. Beautiful walking paths, convenient, great pricing. They filled us up on LP too. Thanks again, Barb and Gary!

Nice overnight stay

We spent a quick night on our cross country trip and we’d stay again. Accommodated our same day reservation. We got a water/electric pull through in the overflow area on the north side. Most of the campers on that end seemed to be semi-permanent vacation trailers and were empty for the most part. The other side was a little more bustling but overall it was a very quite park. Kid friendly, well cared for and thoughtfully laid out . Pond is beautiful and visible from most spots. Freeway noise was unobtrusive. Old school mom and pop place with a friendly vibe!

Helpful staff and relaxing atmosphere

Nice relaxing little stop. A little close to the highway, but it wasn't an issue. Very friendly and helpful staff. Their annual music show was a nice plus to our first night of our week-long adventure. A+ on the bathrooms.

Ok campground for quick trip

Not a large campground. There’s a catch and release lake on site, but not really any fish. There is a super long carp though. Sites are nice but not many pull in RV sites or tent sites

Hidden Gem of Illinois

This campground is well maintained and the owners are extremely helpful and very nice. If you ever travel on interstate 70 this place is a must stop campground. Their fishing lake is beautiful and stocked with bass, bluegill and catfish. The swimming pool feels great on the hot summer days. Bathrooms are clean. I just can't praise this place enough.
