Mackay Bar Campground

Rough access roads lead to Mackay Bar Campground along the river in Idaho's backcountry near Dixie. This US Forest Service site sits within the Nezperce National Forest and enforces a no-pets policy that distinguishes it from many area campgrounds. The riverside location provides water access, though campers should prepare for challenging drive conditions on forest roads.

Visitors planning extended stays can explore camping near Nezperce National Forest for additional options. The campground's remote setting means limited services, so self-sufficient camping gear proves essential for stays here.
