Rainy Day Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Rough road access is the first thing to plan around at Rainy Day Campground, a US Forest Service site set within Nezperce National Forest outside Elk City, Idaho. The campground features a mix of forested and open terrain, with a vault toilet on-site, though it sits at some distance from the actual campsites. Pets are not permitted. Smoke from seasonal wildfires can significantly reduce visibility, so late summer visits carry real risk of poor air quality. Check forest fire conditions before heading out, and confirm road conditions with the Nezperce National Forest ranger district in advance. Six Mile lies roughly 3 miles to the east for campers weighing nearby alternatives.

Not much unless your doing some fishing.

Visited here beginning of September 2017. Here terrible Forrest fires right now so visibility was awful and there really wasn't much to do. The vault toilet was far from he actual camp sites. Definitely I beautiful place but with the smoke it was actually pretty awful. I can imagine with no smoke would have been a lot nicer. In the morning we didn't even cook breakfast just left asap.
