Bear Lake/Trail Side KOA Journey

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Quieter and smaller than its counterpart down the road, Bear Lake/Trail Side KOA Journey sits in Garden City, Utah, operating from May through late September. Sites run close together, which some campers find draws neighbors into easy conversation, though those prioritizing space may want to plan accordingly. The campground accommodates RVs up to 65 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer, and a dump station is also available on site.

The campground sits farther from Bear Lake than the Bear Lake/Marina Side KOA Holiday, which reviewers consistently note, though the lake and mountain roads are described as close enough for day trips. Guests here can request passes to access the larger KOA's pool and facilities, which extends the amenity set without requiring a site change. Cabins on site are noted as newer, with televisions, microwaves, and refrigerators included. Campfire rings are reportedly deep with no built-in grill, so bringing a portable camp stove or gas grill is worth considering. As Alicia V. puts it, this location is "smaller in size and way less amenities than the other KOA but way more quiet."

Pets are allowed, and the campground is within easy reach of Garden City shops and the area's well-known raspberry shakes. Campers who prefer direct lakeside access or more facilities may find Cottonwood Campground at Bear Lake State Park a worth considering as an alternative.

Nice Journey KOA

There are 2 KOA in this small city. The other KOA is closer to the main street and would probably be a better choice if planning to spend a few days but if like us you are just looking for a nice spot to spend the night this is a good option.

Great campsite!!!

We use this camp sight usually about twice a year and each year it’s awesome. Easy to get in get out. Everything is clean the roads to the mountains are around the corner and the lake is very close by as well! Good all around.

Awesome for kids!

These sites are pretty dang close. This is a perfect place to go with family, because you basically share a site with the person next to you. We got to know our neighbors pretty good. Awesome place for kids. They loved all the activites available to them. Right close to the shops and ice cream shakes. You can ask for passes for the larger KOA down the street. This gets you into the pool and everything the big KOA has.

Nice and cute place

Nice area for RVs and camping. Bathrooms were so great. Pets allowed. One thing that I didn't like is their campfire. It was way too deep to cook for food. They don't have a grill on it so you may have to bring your own gas grill or stove. But other than that I would come back again. $40 per night.
