Maui Tent Ohana

Description

*Aloha Please Read to the Bottom of this Page! Maui Private Location. This is such a good deal. *

This elevated camping experience evokes a peaceful surrounding of nature with the sound of birds. The open-air tent includes two xl-twin beds with bedding and towels. It is very private; there are no other campers around.

The private tent is on a platform with an outdoor sitting area under an awning (in case of rain), plenty of space for gear, and LED night-time lighting. A toilet is nearby, a cooler, tables, and chairs are also provided.

The quaint Maui jungle/forest setting is on shared land with a host or hostess on site. For “Lovers of Nature” (hint, hint.) it is a unique experience.

The shared space includes a Spa Like Outdoor Shower and Restroom, picturesque views, and a hiking trail just a few steps away. The outdoor sitting and eating area in the Gazebo is very relaxing.

Fair-priced “Extras” are available after check-in.

The toilet by the tent is intended for sssssss only, primarily for girls (sorry, guys)

If you need anything, please ask. I am sure I can find what you need.

Here are some do's and dont's that will make your trip perfect. Aloha & Mahalo

Do bring mosquito repellent. DO NOT spray the tent or bedding or chairs, etc., with bug spray or essential oils. Put your repellent on you and your clothing only ---please! Do bring repellent to the shower area.

Do raise your feet when entering a tent. It is not flat and can cause you to stumble or fall.

Do leave your shoes outside If it rains or is muddy. Rain causes everything to be very slippery and muddy, so take each step with caution.

Do not leave food in the tent or the garbage can. All food waste can be put in the tall cane grass and will be used by the natural critters. Ask me for an extra garbage sack or paper bag if you plan to drink anything in a recyclable can or bottle. We kindly and firmly want this private site to be a Leave No Trace Area.

Do keep the bottom zipper part of the tent entrance closed as much as possible; this will keep most bugs out.

Do rinse your dishes in the grassy area or other places away from the tent.

DO consider travelers’ insurance. Air traffic delays, rental car shortages, and changes in weather conditions.

Do recycle. There is a bag on the chair for cans and bottles.

If it has or is raining or will, a 4-wheel drive vehicle will be needed. We have other parking within walking distance in case of slippery mud. Keep in mind if you need to leave the site at any time and the weather may get wet then use the lower parking for the wet season We have parking a few feet away from the tent for those who need to leave early in the morning.

Contract and Waiver* I will need a picture of your driver's license and anyone who will be camping with you for all our protection. Please read the damage to property from The Dyrt site so that you know this works since we do not hold deposits.

I/We at this moment waive, release, and discharge any claims for damages for personal injury, death, or property damage which the renter(s) may have, or which may hereafter accrue to me, as a result of participation in outdoor tent camping and use of expressed facilities of the property as listed in the Contract.

I/we have been told that we are camping and parking our vehicle in a macadamia nut tree forest and the macadamia nuts drop 9 months of the year and may put a dent in your vehicle. Vehicle parking away from the tent is available upon request. It is understood that this activity involves an element of risk and danger of accidents, knowing and unknowing risks; I/We, at this moment, assume those risks.

Pre-payment through camping platforms made online, such as The Dyrt, or other platforms, made with your credit card or debit card, creates a contract between you and your guest and us at Maui Tent Ohana.

IN CASE OF RAIN OR HIGH WINDS. We do not offer refunds due to weather conditions. Always be prepared for winds and rain while camping. Our tent is on a platform, so water getting into the tent is highly unlikely. There is a rain fly on the tent and a 20 x 20 ft tarp, just for this reason. Our Core Brand tent can handle 40 mph winds. Mother Nature or the Weather is an Unpredictable Force of Nature; we request you participate for the safety of yourself and others.

  • * This is an edited version of the contract and waiver agreement that you will be signing when you arrive.

Phenomenal

Michelle could not have been more warm or welcoming, she made space for us at very short notice and could not do enough to look after us. We greatly appreciated the hot showers, towels, freshly brewed chai in the mornings and the beautiful scenery on her property. We cannot recommend Michelle enough!

Cozy little gem!

This place is a real gem on Maui. Secluded and very relaxed tent. The tent is on a platform that also serves as a little deck area to sit out and enjoy nature. The host was very friendly and helpful. Although rustic (which I enjoyed), I would highly recommend this place even if camping is not your thing. I will definitely stay here again if I ever come back to Maui

One of a kind tropical escape from your day to day!

This is such a naturally beautiful space. It is the perfect blend of picturesque nature and modern living without any of the day to day stress you’d find in other places. I’ve stayed several times and with each visit have been new upgrades and features. That being said this is not for the high maintenance. Jungle rains are a likely visitor. There is dirt - and peace. I love the outdoor shower which offers an unreal jungle shower experience. There was a some privacy, but not complete - be prepared to let your skin hit the air here. This is definitely a space for those who desire the simplicity of natural surroundings. The birds offer a cacophony of songs throughout the day. You will feel like you are in the middle of jungle heaven. The raised platform and tent are a step up, literally - and rain or shine this is a pretty sweet sleep setup. There are real mattresses and box springs and nice bedding- you will sleep unbelievably well, surrounded by so many shades of green. There is a cool gazebo for hanging out and talking story, BBQ grill, occasional bonfires when weather and conditions permit, lots of accessible destinations within range and a vibe so sweet you won’t want to leave. Macadamia nut trees scatter the property as do a wide range of flora and fauna. It’s a slice of heaven off the beaten path and unlike anything else you can find. I love spending time in this hidden gem.

Nature at its best

A unique location. Not for the trendy type, or those not wanting to rub elbows with the tourists, but those wanting privacy in bamboo forest, and macadamia trees for cool shades any time of the day. Beach and/or mountains less than 10 minutes away. Even though the site is ultra private all your shopping needs only minutes away as well. This site will not only make you happy while on Maui, but will leave you with memories of your trip to Hawaii.

Beautiful surroundings & close to quiet beach

Sensational OLD Maui away from the crowded resorts, yet close to the beach and easy to get into town. Peaceful, tropical place to camp with Iao Mountain views. Easy to get to, very close to town and Whole Foods, but it seems like it's miles away. Lots of fruit and avocado trees everywhere, and quick easy hike up to a swimming hole.

Great having you here Jonzi, I knew you would love it. Hope to seen you again in the IAO valley mountains. Peace
