The Best Camping Near Mountain City, Georgia

Easy to get to from Atlanta or South Carolina.  Campground has 80 graveled sites that are easy to back into. There is a nice playground, basketball court and pool.  Plenty of bathrooms and a laundry facility. Rabun gap is close to a variety of activities including hiking trails, wineries, old country shopping and so much more.  
Campground is super clean and the host is available at a moments notice.

Fairly new RV resort in Rabun Gap, Ga

Large sites. VERY reasonable rates. Best owners you could possibly ask for. Great restrooms and laundry room. Best internet anywhere around. So good, I almost didn't want to tell everyone with this review. It's like your favorite fishing hole, you want to keep it a secret so no one else knows.  This place has more character than half the places we've stayed at. I challenge you to stay even 1 night and interact with the owners. You will see how great this place is. We WILL be coming back.

Great Location and Spacious 

Stayed here for several days. Conveniently located near Clayton and everything in the area. Spots are nice and spacious, hook ups worked great, and the staff was accommodating with me for a late arrival and departure. Good folks, recommend.

Convenient, Nice, and Clean

We stayed the weekend b4 Halloween 2020, it was our first experience there. Very nice well ran place. They had the store house decorated awesome, and it was stocked nicely, staff were super friendly. Many amenities throughout park. Many things to do around town close by


Great place

Man a hidden gem. Not far for us and love the amenities of the resort. Full hookups, plenty to do and entertain the family. Heck makes us want to stay here full time!  Will definitely be back.  We stayed at site 63 which backs up to the creek and is paved. 
They have super fast WiFi so didn’t need our tailgater and just used the smart TVs. Bath houses are clean. 
They think of everything. 

One of the nicest closest getaways for us!

First time for us to stay at Willow Valley. Wonderful family owned campground. Very well taken care of and conveniently located to Clayton, GA and Dillard. The amenities are wonderful, one being that the pool is heated! We stayed at a premium site that backed up to the Tennessee River. Very well taken care of sites. Premium sites are paved. That's the only difference. Great weekend!

First Camp of 2022

Very very nice campground. Good signage and off 441 N. Not any places to eat without going into Clayton. Beautiful park with large sites, some paved. Laundry to was clean. Reasonable size dog park, dog walk and outside dog bath. Lots of trees, very clean and trash pickup at your site. Office lady was very nice and check in was efficient, even though we made the reservations at the last minute. It’s not cheap by any means but you get a lot of bang for your buck.

Beautiful RV Park

**General:** 81-site RV park. Some sites are paved, and some are gravel. They are rated Economy, Premium, or Super Premium, although it was difficult for me to see the difference between some of these sites. 

  

**Site Quality:** We chose a Super-Premium Site (the same price on the Dyrt as the other sites so why not?) but I was surprised to find out our camper pad was gravel and not paved. We had water and electric, but not sewer (not needed). Our site also had a picnic table. 

  

**Bath/Shower House:** All-in-one contained clean units with sink, toilet, and shower. Nice towel rack and hook. Did not use the shower so cannot comment on its quality. 

  

**Activities/Amenities:** There are many activities to keep family members occupied, including a playground, basketball, corn hole, soccer nets, community fire pit (you can rent a private firepit), and in-season, a pool. There is also a clean laundry room with three reasonably priced washers and dryers. 

  

We arrived just after the office closed at 4 pm and had to leave before the office opened at 9 am the following morning but we did meet the resort manager who was very welcoming. We chose this location because it was the most convenient for where we needed to be the following morning. 

  

While this RV park was clean and well-maintained, it was also located on a busy road, so road noise was always present. There was no foliage/separation between sites although there was a reasonable amount of space between sites. 

  

For us personally, I would give it three stars because we prefer more rustic camping with trees and less/no road noise, but if you like RV parks with many activities, I would recommend this one.
