Cozy Spot by the River

Nice, cozy campground by the river with a dock. We spent a weekend at Belle Bluff Island and it was the best. We took our boat and utilized the dock the entire weekend. Ronald, the owner, is very accommodating and will see that you have the best experience. He charges $1 a foot for dockage and the dock is all aluminum so no splinters! We took an evening excursion to a nearby restaurant (Fish Dock @ Pelican’s Point) and the food was great. Since it was the end of summer, there were no many camping spots taken which only added to the experience. We will definitely be back again!

Quiet gorgeous

At first glance I was not thrilled. However, the longer we are here, the more we like it. The birds are fabulous. The rest rooms are not fancy but very clean. No red tape. We used cash. Fun owner whose home is right here and gorgeous

4th of July at Belle Bluff

We found this campground on Hipcamp and it worked out for us since we were attempting to change our 4th of July plans at the last minute. The campground is located directly on the White Chimney River and there is a large dock there for docking boats and fishing. My son fished from the dock the entire time we were there and loved it. There is a small bath house on at the campground with 2 toilets and 2 showers on each side (women and men). While it was nice that this was available, we did not use it due to the bugs. There were Palmetto bugs (big black roaches) in and spiders in them . The sites were very small and close together as well. If the campground had been full (which I don’t think it ever actually is) I would have hated it. We were in site 12 which was directly to the left of the bathhouse. This actually ended up being good because since the bathhouse was there the entire area behaving it served as the front of our site and we were able to put out our mat and spread out our chairs some. If we had been on any other site we would not have had nearly as much room. The other RVs in the park were all at the other end of the park in the 50 amp section and their awnings basically went right up to the back of the next RV. The RV sites were full hookups which was great. Other than the river, bathhouse and availability of hookups there were no other amenities. The owner Mr. Ron was very nice and accommodating. We would go back again due to his hospitality and the location.
