Description

Fish and Wildlife Service

The Chattahoochee Fall Line WMA was created through a partnership between the DNR, The Nature Conservancy and the U.S. Army at Fort Benning. Through the Army Compatible Use Buffer program, ecologically significant land near the military installation’s border is protected from development that is incompatible with the installation’s national security mission.

Collectively, these areas form a landscape of priority habitats that have enormous potential for ecological restoration, including expansion of a fire-managed longleaf pine ecosystem beneficial to the red-cockaded woodpecker, gopher tortoise and other imperiled species. Individually, they provide for more public recreation lands for such activities as hunting, hiking, fishing, camping, and wildlife viewing.

Nice trails but camping close to road

Posted: hunting license, fishing license, or land pass required to camp. May purchase VIA website from camp.

Pulled in with the intention of staying, but after realizing how close the busy road was to the campsites, decided to sleep elsewhere

Cute campground, and enjoyed some of the trails. Looks like it might be a happening hunting spot

Camp sites and camping area in general seem a bit tight if it were full but might be nice for a large group

Side note, if in need of an outlet to charge anything in an emergency, it appears the (closed) hunting check in and check out area has active power (outdoor lights are on as well as interior digital clock) and an outlet is available on the porch/deck area
