Southern Comfort Campground

This place could be really nice if the owners invested some money to fix it up. The park is old and not well maintained. There is no hot water in the showers. Really?! Most of the RVs that were there looked long term/semi-permanent and many of them were in poor condition. I paid approximately $60/night, and it is not worth it.  It is conveniently located to visit Biscayne Bay NP which is just a few miles away. It’s also a convenient stop-over if you are on your way to the Keys. A dog died here just a few days before I arrived after sniffing at a termite tent and breathing the poison gas. I would not come back here unless I were desperate.

Only bad part about it was the tent sites were too close .. not bad , but it’s mainly an RV park . We stayed overnight before heading to the keys . I liked they had a gate code for nighttime.. it’s super easy to find and right off the US1 .. if you’re headed down the keys stop here first for supplies.. they will cost you a ton more once you get on the overseas highway .. Make sure you go to the campsite tiki bar too .. fun!!

Staff and guests were welcoming and friendly. Had a good amount of space.

It's a very affordable spot with good proximity to the Keys and Miami.

Only issue is the bathrooms. They really need to update their bathrooms. Laundry room also needed some updating.
