Weekend get away

Nice peaceful camp ground. Was the only ones here most all weekend. Great access points for the trail heads.

Nice campsite. Ruined by ATVs

This area has transformed greatly in the past 5 years.  ATV's and ATV trails ruin the overall experience.  Noisy, lots of activity early in the morning and late in the afternoon.  Dispersed camping is the only saving grace.  We came to camp and hike the Florida Trail.  The FT was a nice hike but the campsite was disappointing.  Don't bring your dog if they are scared of noises.

Perfect get away

We had gotten tired of the heat and masses of people in south Florida. We ended up being the only campers on the West side (east is currently closed) for Christmas morning. The birds were amazing, the toilets were clean and the trails were a blast in the Jeep! It is sad how unkempt the grounds are. I am hoping that is just since Covid. It's a great set up for large groups with toys.

Nice and quite during the week

We stayed here for 3 nights and had no trouble with ATV noise at all during the week. Fri-sun is a different story. There are bear here so be cautious with your food and animals. Toilets only, no water. The mosquitos were pretty bad but no ticks.

Great for ATV people...not so great on silence

I enjoy this area, but go in the off season or midweek if possible. Because ATVs and generators are allowed (also LOUD drinkers occasionally) it can be hard on the calm quiet types. Watch for bears and TICKS! If ATVs are your thing, then this spot is for you. Take your own water though and flashlights or lanterns for sure. The pine tree forest is beautiful and the wildflowers are very nice. I just would not recommend it for a quiet family camp out. If partying with four wheelers and no camp host is your thing though...go find a spot!

Lake Delancy West, FL

Great place to Camp for several days and ride your atv's , OHV right out of the campground. Lots of shade trees. For as many people that visit this campground the government at least install water & Electric hook ups . You can run generators. It's hard for the forest Dept to keep Camp host there with no electric hook up & running water. Lots of people abuse the $6.00 a day fee to camp and not pay because there is no camp host to watch. Great atv trails , lots of miles. Mostly sand. We go twice a year. Have a great time. Need water hook up to help put out camp fires . GREAT FOR OHV's
