Redskin Creek Rd Designated Campsite

I took Pine valley road in ( be sure to stop at crossroads tourist stop before turning onto pine valley) Turned onto red skin road with my FWD sedan low to the ground. No issue driving through the first 6 sites. Mine we #6

Beautiful pine trees with plenty of pine kindling to start fires. Serious fire dangers in the summer I imagine. I visited in a cold December day so there was no issue

Pet friendly and plenty of trails and biking trails to experience.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay! Our sight was low on fire wood, but we are definitely planning on visiting again

Just wanted to write another review of this spot, love it, easy road in but extremely busy even in late September on an early Friday afternoon. Completely full by Friday 6pm I wouldn’t even try after unless it’s November-April. Seriously. Lots of big spots for multiple cars and tents, fire pits in every numbered spot. Trails nearby, even found an old horseshoe! Get there early, but that’s known if you ever been there.

We arrived on Thursday 8/7/2025 at 7am looking for a spot, it was pretty well filled up but we found site #13 open so we jumped on it.  After setting up we walked the grounds as site #13 goes pretty far back and down the mountian and is beautiful, here's why I gave it two stars.  30-40 yards behind our fire ring there were 5 piles of human crap with TP smushed on them and with the wind alot of used TP was scattered across the site, so I had to put on disposable gloves and walk the ground and pick other human beings used TP.

Drove for hours looking for a spot. Insanely crowded.

About 32 or more spots along redskin creek road that goes back a few miles with spots with fire rings along the dirt road. Eventually there is a campground that is pretty packed on the weekends, but some great spots with room for cars and groups, most are secluded from others. Def can get busy all 32 spots were taken at like 3pm on a Saturday. Please pack out, ended up cleaning a bunch of toilet paper left near one of the hiking trails. Not buggy at all even after a quick rain. Road can take on 2WD cars easily.

This is now my favorite campsite in Colorado. Just an hour from Denver… nice road… large campsites with fire pits, hiking trails. Minutes from fishing. Perfect!!

This was a great site! Trails everywhere, lots of beautiful sites. Some have mountain views, others are more covered by trees. I stayed in a loop site that was super cozy. All sites have fire rings and plenty of dead trees/branches in the area to gather for firewood.

A beautiful and peaceful place to chill out! The spots are plenty spaced out from others. Just a heads up that many of the spots aren’t flat for parking or even for a tent.

I started camping this area a couple of years ago and have been coming back several times a year. Over 30 dispersed campsites along a moderately smooth dirt road. Sites are spaced well apart, some sites are covered in trees while others are wide open. I haven’t seen one there yet but it’s good to stay BEAR AWEAR. Sites are clean. I camped at sites 15, 18, 22(twice), 26 (twice ), and there’s two sites close to Wellington lake that I’ve stayed three times . Yes it’s a good place to camp and only about a hour from Denver. My visits were between May to October. Only a fire ring is provided,everything else you’ll need to bring……AND PACK OUT when you leave so the next camper can enjoy the site like you did.

Finally, a nice campsite on a road that isn't horrible. There are 30+ designated, numbered, dispersed campsites on this road. Each of them have a parking area right along the road with a fire ring a short distance away surrounded by awesome rock outcroppings. The parking areas tend to be very unlevel and there are only a few that you can pull right up to your campsite. #6 had a level spot large enough for my van and the camping area just a few steps away. These are great campsites and the area is really awesome. After so many horrible roads and places closed, it was a blessing to find this spot. The road is a bit of a washboard, but that is nothing compared to most of the forest roads in Colorado. Highly recommended! Cell service with At&t in site 6 is decent. Calling is 2 bars. at least half of the sites are big rig friendly. All of the sites are 100% free.
