Description
On the high desert plateau of southwestern Colorado's Cajon Mesa, this BLM staging area sits at the end of the rough dirt track leading down to the Cutthroat Castle unit of Hovenweep National Monument — one of the most remote and least-visited Ancestral Puebloan ruin clusters in the region. The pullout is wide enough to accommodate multiple rigs, with broad open views across the mesa before the road descends rocky and washed-out terrain into the canyon. High clearance is essential, and the road becomes significantly more challenging when wet.
