Description
Deep in the Gunnison National Forest along the FR 709 corridor, Coal Creek offers a string of shaded, creekside pullouts beneath a dense pine canopy — with direct access to the rushing water just steps from camp. Multiple spots spread along the road accommodate everything from small tents to large rigs and group setups. The gravel access road can be rough in places and is vulnerable to washouts after heavy precipitation, so high-clearance is worth having; no cell service reaches this far into the drainage.
