Description
Open high-desert BLM terrain west of Grand Junction, this string of dispersed sites runs along a dirt two-track off Highway 139 — turn left just before the mile-8 marker coming from I-70 and Loma. The road is passable in 2WD for the closer sites and accommodates large rigs on the flatter stretches, though the surface gets rougher and rutted farther in, where 4WD is advisable. Sites are level and spread out with open views, but be prepared for an unmanicured environment — trash and animal carcasses have been a recurring presence along the corridor.
