Description
Spanish Creek cuts through the lower Sierra Nevada terrain of Plumas National Forest here, offering a half-mile stretch of flat, shaded pullouts along the riverbank — plenty of room even on a busy summer weekend. The approach is a bumpy dirt road, just wide enough for a large van or small RV, reached by following the public-access signs past the Oakland Feather River Camp. The creek runs deep enough to swim in warm weather, and a rail line threads the canyon nearby, audible mainly in the evenings and early mornings.
