Description
High on the White Mountains at roughly 10,500 feet, Silver Peak commands an outsized panorama of the eastern Sierra Nevada — Mt. Tom, Mt. Humphreys, the Palisades, Temple Crag, and the Bishop valley spread out below. Several open sites are scattered around the summit area near the antenna towers, all benefiting from the same sweeping exposure and genuine high-alpine quiet. Access is via rough forest tracks off the White Mountain Road corridor, and the remote elevation keeps crowds thin even on holiday weekends.
