San Bernardino NF Dispersed off CA 74 near Mountain Center

CA 74 (Highway 74) in San Bernardino National Forest rises to a dirt shoulder pullout at roughly 4,200 feet elevation on the mountain corridor above the Coachella Valley — and the nighttime city view looking down toward the valley is the defining reason to stop here. The surface is fairly level and fits vans and RVs comfortably, though traffic on the highway runs day and night, so expect road noise. Cell signal is generally workable at this elevation.
