MUST GO HERE

The host Jason and his whole family were so so sweet!! Honestly better than an Airbnb experience. He kept in touch with us all throughout our drive there and helped us get set up upon arrival. Gave us a tour of his whole farm, got to play with all the farm animals, and allowed us to use his house…

A GREAT STAY

We had the pleasure of staying with Jason and his family at the Shooting Star Sanctuary. Jason was kind and super helpful since the moment we contacted him.

As far as amenities go: There is Wi-Fi throughout the property which is free to use. The bathroom and shower inside the house are available…

Views of a dry lake bed

A nice campground.  Lots of space between sites, some with electric and water.  Nice views of where the lake should be, with volcanic outcroppings all around.  Site 01 was shaded, level and easy to back our 24 foot trailer into.  Unfortunately the lake was way low due to drought.   Things we did…

I didn't stay. Can't believe it has 5 stars!

I guess if you stayed on the water it might be nice but the campground itself was pretty bad. 1st they have blocked any phone signal so even with my WeBoost I could not work from here. 2nd the flies were horrible. 3rd my site was across from overflowing trash can. 4th the hookups are on the wrong…

Very windy

I don’t know how often it happens but the night was very windy. We might have been unlucky but I saw so many trees lean the same angle, meaning the valley could be the path of wind and tend to blow strong. If you plan to camp, not RV, watch out!

Convenient, shady respite

Easy on/off from Hwy. 99. Nice management. Spaces large and lots of shade coverage. Close to hwy but far enough that road noise isn't onerous. Train passes through once at night time, bring earplugs. Clean, tidy, well kept campground.

Little bit of green along the river

Probably COVID related but this park is under utilized and under attended. The shower is of if you throw in quarters and close your eyes. It could use some TLC but was a quite place to stop for the night.

Not all spots have shade.

Great place!

We had a blast here. You’re 25 miles from the park entrance, on a straight path. The sites were a great space and the pool and playground was a lot of fun of the kids. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

Great dry-camping place

There are no hookups or water supply offered. However, for those that are self-sufficient, this is a really nice place. It gets busy, so go early. Also, there is a narrow bridge(see pictures) before the campgrounds that limits vehicle size. It is not advisable for trailers over 18 feet in length.…

We stayed in site 6 which was right on the water. Beautiful views and plenty of space between sites. Pretty busy on weekends but that’s typical this time of year. Water/Electric hook ups. No showers (we are self contained so it was perfectly fine for our 7 night stay) camp host was very nice and…
