    Cowboy Camp

    Quiet

Quiet stop, but I wouldn't call it the most beautiful stop I've ever stayed. Camping spots are to the left and the right I'd the day use. Pit toilets. No garbage.

Great free campground! We've stayed here many times. It's open, grassy level and quiet. Next to a stream and surrounded by hills. The only tough part is getting across the stream to some of the hikes. It's a hot spot for horses which of course have no stream problems, so the only negative is fly's sometimes. But just keep your screen door closed (& fly swatter handy). We always manage to level out in our 23" Winnebago View. There is lots of open space so no crowding. There is a rural road near by but traffic noise isn't a problem. Perhaps I should say it's awful so fewer people come and it's not discovered.

    FLIES!

No trees just dry open land inhabited by an unusual amount of flies. It was crazy how thick they were. An almost dry creek runs alongside the open field of camping pads. To close to the road and way to exposed to feel comfortable to stay. If I needed a place to get some shut eye before heading onward, then maybe. I had a car full of flies that went to the coast with us. It was crazy.

    Hidden Gem!

Only $55 for a full hookup that’s a pull through. $50 for Good Sam Members. We came in too late to enjoy the comedy shows they have every first Saturday. If you happen to make it on time, “Carlinos” or the place the host it is in the North Tower. Go right at the main entrance. We missed it by wandering around the casino trying to find it. There are also amazing views at sunset and sunrise if you get to the lots closer to the end- which we didn’t. Great front desk staff! They also have routine patrol security.

Laundry: $2.00 for washing machines and $1.00 for dryers. Must be done by 10 pm with the last load starting at 8 pm.

Showers: $15/person- not included in RV fee

Dump station: $10- only from 9am- 5 pm, although each site has sewer hookups.

No wifi, but I’m not upset because the price was great and I had good cell coverage.

This is an absolutely lovely campsite

With pristine wilderness surrounding your tent, you can camp alongside the beautiful reservoir.

Wildlife is all around you and you can see some of the most beautiful scenery you'll ever see in your life.

We enjoyed our camping trip immensely and enjoyed getting into our kayaks and on to the water.

We took some video footage as well.

There was a great fishing but we didn't catch anything.

It was very quiet and peaceful.

    Great spot

Really nice campground with great facilities and friendly staff. Right beside a casino, so you can pay for your camping and then lose all your money next door. No wifi or cable, but networks are strong.

    Good

Large pull-thru sites with vegetation in between.  Casino nearby has multiple restaurants and entertainment, including golf.  Cheap gas for California.  Little bit of a hike to clean restrooms.  Quiet.  Convenient location for traveling down I-5.

    Very Clean Park

We used Rolling Hills as a stop over on our voyage from Oregon to Arizona. We stayed one night. The park is CLEAN, Quiet, the sites level, The Park staff are helpful.  The park is on the campus of a casino with multiple eating establishments.  A Fuel station/truck stop in also on the ground.. I should be more generous in my ratings, but to get five stars the park needs mature trees. Guess I spent too much of my life in Oregon

    Please practice LNT

The first morning we were there my dog found and ate some weed that someone had carelessly and irresponsibility discarded on the ground and she became extremely ill and had to be rushed to the emergency vet for treatment. Practicing leave no trace is so important for the safety of all animals and the preservation of our wild lands.

The road in took about an hour and a half and I would not recommend attempting it without 4WD and high clearance. There is one stream crossing but it is minor.

    Easy on/off freeway

Made a reservation 44 minutes before arriving. Quick check in. Great for overnight. Or casino patronage. No frills, but full hookups. No fire rings, picnic tables, etc.

Amazing getaway with a great view

This is a great place to escape city life. Don't mistake this camp ground for the one in Joshua state park. The road to get there was the only headache especially since we drove a small car. We made it but I'd definitely recommend something with a higher clearance. There were 6 campsites with tables and a fire rings. The camp ground had a pit toilet and no running water. There was no cell service and alot of mosquitoes.

Easy access, clean facilities, level 75' pull through spots

We enjoyed an overnight stay here. Clean facilities, well maintained grounds and friendly neighbors. Conveniently located just off I-5, far enough away from the noise. Casino, restaurants, doggy daycare and golf just next door. Sites are level 75 ft pull through sites. We will stay again. Lower numbered sites are closest to amenities.

    Horse Camp

We stopped here on our way home to take some pictures to share with our fellow Dyrt members!

There are hitching post and water troughs, but I didn’t see any corrals. The sites were nice size, and a couple backed up to each other, making a good group site.

    Great little overnight spot

This campground made for a great overnight getaway trip. We went in late may and the weather was perfect for traditional camping activities. The mosquitoes were out in full force so bug spray is a must. There are some nice places to fish that are just a short walk from the campsites and the campsites are nicely shaded to help cut the heat during the day. We saw some salmon, deer, quail, and frogs. There was evidence of bears around our site but we didn't have any issues.

    Strict rules but clean facilities

If you need a place to stop and sleep and nothing else, this is your place! Clean bathrooms in the remodeled facility, easy pull through spots fitting both big rvs and little vans like mine. Hot and windy, but very quiet little park and didn't hear highway at all.

Most of the sites were not very level

There were several groups partying loudly well after midnight , and the water was nearly a mile walk to the boat ramp and almost 2 mikes to a “beach” that was closed. New construction might make some of this better, but unless something drastic changes I’m scratching this one off my list.

    Nice little spot

We enjoyed a pull thru full hookup spot. We had our dogs and 5 year old with us. There was a fair amount of space between sites. We all enjoyed a meal at the steak house. After we let mama gamble as my daughter and I enjoyed the arcade, then we switched. If we need to get away for a night, I can see us coming back here again.

    Great little getaway

The campsites are clean and include picnic table, firepit and plenty of shade. Water pumps near the sites. Vault toilets, hot water and showers. The campsites do not overlook the water. We visited in the off season with no reservations and there was plenty of availability. Camp hosts were very nice and always on site.
