Bidwell Canyon is the place to go

Out of all of the campgrounds around Lake Oroville and within the state park rec area by far Bidwell is THE best..it's clean, it has cell service plus wifi if you need it, pets are ok, 2 to 3 boat launches, spots to fish, great showers and bathrooms plus the park rangers that run this specific campground are the most amazing people.. they remember you and they are always friendly and have a smile for you plus they are incredibly knowledgeable and clearly love their jobs..I love this campground and have been here many times this summer alone I will continue to come back and always recommend it to anyone and everyone

Campground on Lake Oroville

If you are looking for a small campground with full hookups, on the lake, close to Table Mountain and Feather Falls, this is for you. We picked this campground for its location, but got so much more. The campsites aren’t huge or very level, but the fact that it has full hookups for $45/night, is small, and on the lake made up for that fact. We don’t have small children, but think it would be a great place since there wasn’t a lot of traffic driving through the campground. A couple of downsides were that the water in the lake was very low and the showers are token operated. Tokens can be purchased from a machine outside the shower house, but it only takes bills (no coins), so have your ones and fives ready. Table mountain was in n full bloom in April and we enjoyed Kayaking on Thermaliro Forbay. Feather Falls was closed due to fire damage.

Floating camp sites

I’ve never been to a floating camp site. It’s great. The cleanest I’ve ever been camping. There is no electricity, no running water except for the toilet. You are right on the lake. Dip in to cool down or fish right off of you site. Best thing I’ve discovered yet.

Lake Oroville, nice camping, so many things to do!

Really enjoyed this campground which is part of the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area. The staff where we checked in were helpful with all of our questions about the area. We stayed here for a trip to Feather Falls, then Table Mountain on the way home. There are local hiking trails, and of course all kinds of water recreation at the lake. The Lake Oroville Visitor Center has a small museum and exhibits. Staff there were wonderful too.

Picnic tables, fire ring, flush toilets. We never felt crowded in our campsite here. If this campground isn't right for you, there are others within this SRA.

Clean and quiet

Just got back yesterday from a weekend trip with the family. The campground is huge 137 sites in 3 groups, we were one of maybe 15 sites occupied while there. The sites/bathrooms were all very clean, didn't smell at all. Unfortunately the beach access/swimming area has turned into a meadow which was nice to see deer but there wasn't a place for the little ones to swim (but that's the drought out here for you). A lot of the sites are very uneven, ours was almost terraced, and the tent area was barely big enough for our 8 person tent. When I took a drive around it looked like many were similarly sloped/ terraced not a flat site. Unfortunately this weekend was 108 or so as highs, so it was a very hot weekend. The campground would likely be better in late September/October.
