This spot was great! We got one row back from the edge of the cliff but luckily no one was camping in it when we were there. We got to see a pod of dolphins swimming by as we ate breakfast. Great views of the beach and nice bathrooms for a campground.
Simple park, with lots of green to run, playground, few mins drive to the beach($10 entry fee), space between RVs and a table. I like it. Swimming pool clean, showers fantastic. Clean toilets. Missing a hairdryer though.
We live about two hours away and couldn’t believe we hadn’t heard about this spot before. We came on a monday and the crowds had just left so we had most of the site to ourselves. The hosts were generous and offered to see us wood but there was plenty of wood from the previous campers (plus we had…
Neat and clean campsite. They have pay showers which are decent. Less than 1/2 mile walk to the beach. Bike or hiking trails.
This campground is in a very cool location. You can walk straight out to the beach. There’s a monarch Grove right next to you. And it’s about a 15-20 minute walk to Pismo beach Downtown and the Pier where you’ll find all of the main attractions in the area.
Most of the campsites have little to no…
It was pretty busy and bustling when we stayed, but definitely a cozy spot. Great hikes nearby and the beach is just a short walk away! We saw lots of cute animals during our stay. The campsite pass also gets you free parking at pretty much any beach along the PCH.
Camp hosts are friendly and they enforce the rules which I like because it was quiet at night and nobody was taking over my space. However, it is not a campground it is a parking lot where you camp. Bathrooms are dirty, hot shower doesn't always work, ground was full of some gophers who were…
Excellent facilities, friendly and lively environment, gorgeous beach (no dogs!), make reservations early, there are spots with direct ocean views.
Such an awesome unique space! Looks to be an old summer camp that is recently acquired to be a campground/outdoor event space. Amanda, the owner, is extremely sweet and accommodating. There is hookups for rigs, I saw two vans and a smaller/mid-sized SUV. They also have small private cabins to rent…
I was so sad to find out that this campground is now permanently closed.
Was able to call and snag a last minute two day Jalama site on the way south. It’s been 30 years since I’ve been there and it’s way better than I remembered. Amazing 🌅 sunsets, great beach for surfing or just a nice long walk. No phone service but the camp Wireless was actually pretty decent. Was…

The beach is amazing. But if you’re tent camping don’t bother going if you can only get a site on the back side by the freeway. Way too loud, especially when the trains go by. Sites by the beach are night and day

This campsite with its gorgeous Manzanita Trees and forestry landscapes left us feeling at peace with nature. It was quiet and felt like we were a million miles from home ( we live 2 hrs away) I highly recommend this site and the hosts are fabulous.
Went solo camping and had an amazing time. The sunset was breathtaking and so was the entire campground

I've been going to carpentaria since I was 5 years old. It was always our family "end of the summer" camping trip. I've had so many amazing memories and traditions. We always get up early at low tide to collect sea shells and sand dollars and watch the sea lions sleep on the rocks. And everyone…
