Description
Just northwest of Mammoth Lakes, this Inyo National Forest dispersed area sits in the open volcanic plateau country characteristic of the Eastern Sierra at around 8,300 feet. A quiet dirt road turnoff opens up into roughly ten informal sites with established fire rings, making it one of the more spacious free-camping options this close to town. The road is accessible and straightforward in dry conditions; the area is seasonal and typically closed through winter.
