Description
Within the mixed conifer belt of Sequoia National Forest near Big Baldy Ridge, this dispersed area sits just off FR 14S29A at roughly 6,900 feet, tucked between the two national parks and within easy reach of both. Multiple pullouts line the road, offering shade by afternoon, a small creek nearby, and genuine quiet once traffic settles — though the road sees some daytime activity during summer. Terrain is uneven throughout, so expect to hunt for a level enough patch; the access road is manageable for regular high-clearance vehicles but not suited to long rigs or anything requiring a flat hookup. A fire ring is present but a permit is required to use it, and the gate is typically locked through the snowbound months, making this a late-spring-through-fall destination.
