Military personnel with base access can reserve sites at this year-round campground located on Naval Air Facility El Centro. The facility provides back-in sites with full hookups on an asphalt surface, each featuring a small grass strip behind the pad and accommodating big rigs.
Winter months draw heavy use from snowbirds, while summer's extreme heat keeps occupancy low. Base amenities include a large pool with water slides, gym, bowling alley, and commissary. The campground proves popular during the annual air show in March. For additional camping options, campers can explore Rio Bend RV & Golf Resort nearby.

Directions
From I-8, exit at Westmoreland/Forrester Rd (exit 111). Also sign for NAF El Centro and S30. Go north at top of exit ramp (Forrester Rd.) and proceed north to stop light. Turn left onto S80 (Evan Hews Rd.) and proceed west to NAF El Centro sign. Turn right, proceed North and through gate. Bear left at "Y" and left again onto First St. Continue until street name changes to D St. Go past the sign for Palm Oasis RV Park and look for a large asphalt area on the right, past the bus stop. Pull in and park here. Check-in is across the street, on the North end of Bldg 318 (Gear Issue) and is open 0800-1630 M-F only.
