Balsamo Road BLM Dispersed near Kramer

Mojave high desert stretches out around this flat BLM pullout along Balsamo Road, with Saddleback Mountain visible to the west and the distant threads of Highways 395 and 58 on the horizon. The pull-through area is wide, level, and firm enough for large rigs — a 34-foot motorhome with a toad has used it comfortably — and additional roads push deeper into the desert for those wanting more solitude. Nights are notably quiet, though mining trucks begin moving along the road in the early morning hours, and the access track has some washboard that warrants caution when wet.
