    Overview

Choctaw Park is located on the spacious Greers Ferry Lake nestled in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. In the 19th century, a city named Higden flourished where the lake now rests. The city suffered from frequent flooding and as a result a man-made lake was created for flood control of the area. Today, the city's remains sit below the lake, enticing scuba divers and archeologists alike.

    Recreation

Whether a visitor prefers boating, water skiing, fishing, swimming or scuba diving, Greers Ferry Lake has it all. The river tributaries keep anglers entertained, as they produce some of the largest walleye in the world; the record breaker was a whopping 23 lbs. In spring, the countryside becomes a photographer's paradise with wildflowers, redbud and dogwood trees in full bloom.

    Natural Features

Greers Ferry Lake spans 30,000 acres of north-central Arkansas. The dam creating the reservoir stands at the foot of the beautiful Round Mountain, with water trickling through to the Little Red River.

    Nearby Attractions

Explore the quaint historic towns around the lake for shopping and dining. The William Carl Garner Visitor Center is just west of the dam, with exhibits, a children's touch table, and a replica of the world record 40 lb. 4 oz. brown trout caught in the Little Red River downstream of the center.

    Indian Lakes Resort

Great campground right on the lake

The folks that run this place were incredibly welcoming and awesome. We stayed here in the middle of April so it was still a little too cold to swim. The bathrooms/showers were clean and decent. We had a nice primitive spot we were able to drive up to. They also have spots that you can park at and walk to. Electric spots as well. There’s fishing and a boat ramp as well. The lake cabin was awesome! It was recently renovated. We will definitely stay here again any time we’re in the area.

    Little Rock North KOA

    Noisy and Work

Staff is friendly. Campground is next to the freeway. You get a lot of road noise. All of the cabins are over grown. Sites are easy access but tight, not much room between rigs if both rigs have slides. There is a lot of long term guess. Not what I would expect from any KOA. You may not feel safe at this park if you a traveling alone.

    Amazing Campground

This Campground is quiet, secluded jewel in Clinton, Arkansas. Tall trees everywhere you look. Every campsite is shaded. Perfectly spaced trees for the hammock lovers.

    • Directions:  From Drasco take Highway 92 west 7 miles till Brownsville Road.  Turn  left, travel 3 miles.  Keep up with your mileage as there will not be a sign pointing the traveler to the turn.  You will find a small white sign that directs you to Brittany Cove.  Turn left.  We put the address into the GPS (updated GPS) and it did not find the campground.  If you follow the above you will arrive at the campground.

This campground is very rural.  I would suggest buying your supplies at the nearest town.  Once you arrive at the campground you are about 11 miles to Drasco and Greers Ferry will be about the same distance.  Drasco has a small store and service station and Greers Ferry has a small grocery market.

The  sites are small but well shaded which is a bonus.  Fishing or boating would be the main draw for this location.  If you want to enjoy the peace and quiet this is your stop.  The view is beautiful with all the water sites.

    Pristine Little Getaway

Traveled down about 1.4K miles to take in the surrounding areas in AR since my family is looking for our forever home and spent four days here… We must say that, with the excellent views and service provided there at Indian Lakes, we would love to come back again! Tommy (Site Manager/Owner) checked in on us every so often and was more than hospitable :). HIGHLY recommended!!!

Worth the commute from Little Rock

Beautiful area with great fishing, swimming(water slides&diving boards in the middle of the lake) and fun for the whole family. The staff were also very friendly. We will definitely be back again! The only Con was lack of signs for campsites.

    Trails End RV Park

    Not meant for big rigs.

Sites are poor, at best. Concrete is broken and gravel is used to fix problem. Gravel was new and not packed...almost got my rig stuck. Electric hook up was okay...water and sewer were in need of repair.

    Good for one night

Just passing through. Met our needs for one night. Didn’t see the laundry facility so can’t speak to that. Play ground, pool, friendly office staff. Wifi seemed ok. Major traffic noise at night from the highway. About 14 minutes to downtown area. Park seemed a little rundown, sites close together. Worked for one night stay.

    Little Rock North KOA

    Convenient Overnight

We stopped in for a quick overnight stay and the location was convenient- which is what we love about KOA- but it wouldn’t be my top choice for a longer stay. The sites are definitely tight and amenities are very basic. We have a class A and flat tow so we needed a pull thru so we wouldn’t have to unhook for the one night. We stayed in site G4. It was tight and sloped on the far back end, but was fine for us. Would’ve been an issue if we did need to unhook for an emergency. Still, would stop here again for an overnight if needed.

Only 1 Tent Site on the property !

It was great. I have the only tent site they offer. It’s away from the RV area. The couple that runs the KOA are super friendly. There is a pool but not open for some reason. Small dog park. Camp store. Clean. And an ice cream shop! The only drawback is it’s close to the freeway and you can hear a LOT of traffic.

    Little Rock North KOA

    Nice KOA

Easy access for a KOA, we have a cyclone 4270 (44’ triple axel 5th wheel) which is pushing it for most KOA’s. We landed a pull through just behind the office and on way out of curve in road so we slide right in. Neighbors are close but nice as was the staff. Good safe place to stop for night, far enough away from highway to to be peaceful but not so far that you are going out of your way.

    Loud freeway noise.

I think at one time, this was an awesome site until the freeway. VERY noisy. I would have given two stars, however, the hosts are wonderful and they have an ICE CREAM PARLOR next to the office. The space itself is level and has a concrete pad for the picnic table. Space Y-9 which is a PT.

We got in around 6:30pm and was met and led to our site(right in front across from office) We were told if we were going to disconnect our 40ft Jayco Eagle that we had to pull it all the way to front of site and park truck behind. This necessitated the need to buy a longer black water line for $161.00. Could not find any garbage receptacles close but was late and didn't get much time to acclimate. Left early to continue our trip

    City Campground

Stayed at this KOA so we could spend some time in the city. It is what you’d expect from a campground beside the interstate. It was pretty full, there were sparse trees, and we could see everything our neighbors were doing. The bathrooms were very clean and the showers hot. The only downside was the traffic noise from the interstate, but that was to be expected.

Fine for a one night stay

Granted we were here during Coronavirus shutdown, so it was a blessing they were open at all. No employees here, so I can’t speak to that. The grounds are clean and spaces are level and close together. There’s a little bit of road noise from the freeway but not bad. I wouldn’t stay for an extended period but for a one night stop it was fine.
