      Overview

Choctaw Park is located on the spacious Greers Ferry Lake nestled in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. In the 19th century, a city named Higden flourished where the lake now rests. The city suffered from frequent flooding and as a result a man-made lake was created for flood control of the area. Today, the city's remains sit below the lake, enticing scuba divers and archeologists alike.

      Recreation

Whether a visitor prefers boating, water skiing, fishing, swimming or scuba diving, Greers Ferry Lake has it all. The river tributaries keep anglers entertained, as they produce some of the largest walleye in the world; the record breaker was a whopping 23 lbs. In spring, the countryside becomes a photographer's paradise with wildflowers, redbud and dogwood trees in full bloom.

      Natural Features

Greers Ferry Lake spans 30,000 acres of north-central Arkansas. The dam creating the reservoir stands at the foot of the beautiful Round Mountain, with water trickling through to the Little Red River.

      Nearby Attractions

Explore the quaint historic towns around the lake for shopping and dining. The William Carl Garner Visitor Center is just west of the dam, with exhibits, a children's touch table, and a replica of the world record 40 lb. 4 oz. brown trout caught in the Little Red River downstream of the center.

      Red River Trout Dock

      Peaceful Quaint Relaxing

This is an older private campground that is very well maintained right on the river. Peaceful tranquil setting with owners/operators on site that are very friendly. Bath houses are private and immaculate. RV sites are full hook up 50 amp. RV sites are spacious and nightly rate is a great value. Highly recommend

      Great getaway!!

We stayed here 3 nights over the Labor Day weekend. The sites close to the road are really easy to get into. Just be prepared to do a some leveling but that’s part of camping right? The sites that are closer to the river are kind of close together and some of the sites look to have campers that are permanently there. The fishing was great at the dock and the owners are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. We plan on going back in October because my son wants to have his birthday there. Definitely would recommend Red River Trout Dock to anyone.

Worth the commute from Little Rock

Beautiful area with great fishing, swimming(water slides&diving boards in the middle of the lake) and fun for the whole family. The staff were also very friendly. We will definitely be back again! The only Con was lack of signs for campsites.

Only 1 Tent Site on the property !

It was great. I have the only tent site they offer. It’s away from the RV area. The couple that runs the KOA are super friendly. There is a pool but not open for some reason. Small dog park. Camp store. Clean. And an ice cream shop! The only drawback is it’s close to the freeway and you can hear a LOT of traffic.

We got in around 6:30pm and was met and led to our site(right in front across from office) We were told if we were going to disconnect our 40ft Jayco Eagle that we had to pull it all the way to front of site and park truck behind. This necessitated the need to buy a longer black water line for $161.00. Could not find any garbage receptacles close but was late and didn't get much time to acclimate. Left early to continue our trip

      Noisy and Work

Staff is friendly. Campground is next to the freeway. You get a lot of road noise. All of the cabins are over grown. Sites are easy access but tight, not much room between rigs if both rigs have slides. There is a lot of long term guess. Not what I would expect from any KOA. You may not feel safe at this park if you a traveling alone.

      Loud freeway noise.

I think at one time, this was an awesome site until the freeway. VERY noisy. I would have given two stars, however, the hosts are wonderful and they have an ICE CREAM PARLOR next to the office. The space itself is level and has a concrete pad for the picnic table. Space Y-9 which is a PT.

      Good for trout fishing

Good place to stay if you just need somewhere to park your camper and then spend your time on the Little Red River trout fishing. Dock on site. However, the campsites are basically in a field and they are very close together.

      Typical KOA

Typical KOA fairly convenient to I-40, pretty shady and crowded.  Big lightning storm when we were there caused the campground to lose power for an hour overnight, otherwise uneventful stay.

      Good for one night

Just passing through. Met our needs for one night. Didn’t see the laundry facility so can’t speak to that. Play ground, pool, friendly office staff. Wifi seemed ok. Major traffic noise at night from the highway. About 14 minutes to downtown area. Park seemed a little rundown, sites close together. Worked for one night stay.

      Lazy Person's Dream

      Open year round

Rural rolling hill and a good road.  The park is right off the rural road.  Grass is well maintained and you will find very large sites with some paved and some gravel. There is a camphost.  The bathrooms are a very nice size and very clean.

Sites are well marked on the pavement at the beginning of each site.  Some sites are more level than others.  Check the details closely when making reservations.  Area is covered with pine trees and I would want a broom to sweep off the site.

Fishing is a way of life for most lovers of the lake but you also have boating of all types

      Pristine Little Getaway

Traveled down about 1.4K miles to take in the surrounding areas in AR since my family is looking for our forever home and spent four days here… We must say that, with the excellent views and service provided there at Indian Lakes, we would love to come back again! Tommy (Site Manager/Owner) checked in on us every so often and was more than hospitable :). HIGHLY recommended!!!

      Love it here

Good campground. They have basically everything you need on site. Close grocery stores and restaurants. They sell everything you need for fishing as well. They do not have 30 amp service, only 50, so bring an adapter. Will stay here again.

      • Directions:  From Drasco take Highway 92 west 7 miles till Brownsville Road.  Turn  left, travel 3 miles.  Keep up with your mileage as there will not be a sign pointing the traveler to the turn.  You will find a small white sign that directs you to Brittany Cove.  Turn left.  We put the address into the GPS (updated GPS) and it did not find the campground.  If you follow the above you will arrive at the campground.

This campground is very rural.  I would suggest buying your supplies at the nearest town.  Once you arrive at the campground you are about 11 miles to Drasco and Greers Ferry will be about the same distance.  Drasco has a small store and service station and Greers Ferry has a small grocery market.

The  sites are small but well shaded which is a bonus.  Fishing or boating would be the main draw for this location.  If you want to enjoy the peace and quiet this is your stop.  The view is beautiful with all the water sites.
