Upon first pulling up place seemed nice and peaceful however we shortly noticed the only people staying were obvious drug addicts. We felt our safety was at risk and we quickly packed up.. Bathrooms were unusable due to hornets. Lake water was not appealing smelt like dead fish was dirty and has…
Quiet place. Clean, more primitive and not developed. Does have flush toilets. Great place to go tent camping.

Great spot within walking distance of boat ramp for swimming. Bring your own trowel and TP because the bathrooms are full of wasp nests. Great quiet camping though!
Beautiful and for the most part a quiet campground. I was here on a Sunday night and it was fully occupied by 6:00 p.m. This is an Army Corps of Engineers Class D campground. No services, no electric hookups, and no fees charged. I stayed one night but would happily stay longer the next time I am…

This is a nice Campground with a small lake, very clean and good space between RV.
It was great! Our camper was not pulling 50 amps, so we went to the registration office they called a Ranger. Which the ranger called a electronic. Within an hour the election had it fix. All went good. Fish was biting and enjoy our time.
We love the Dam Area camp grounds. We have tent and RV camped here and will continue to come back.
This place was nice. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The sites were well maintained and spaced nicely.
This camp site is easy to find but that is about it as at night i woke to the sound of gun fire 100 feet from my tent. Unless you carry do not go to this campsite.
The good: not far from civilization. Friendly folks. Quiet unless someone has a generator...bathrooms work and stocked with t.p.
The bad: Google maps takes you almost there and then it looks like you cannot continue because of road. The map is wrong. Keep going on road and you will find it!
What a pleasant surprise! Plenty of space, easy back in parking. You can walk to the crater if you like, less than a mile. Nice bathroom and showers. Stayed 2 nights. Plenty of stars. No bright light to ruin the true camping experience!
Great park plenty of activities we dug for diamonds, no luck,be prepared can get very messy especially after a rain very educational for all ages
No frills. Bring everything. Quiet spots on the lake. If you have squeamish kids along, maybe bring a “Luggable Loo”, as the toilets get scarier after dark. Because it’s on BLM land, access can be closed by the government, like when a certain moron closed all National parks in 2013.
I tried to car camp at the site but there was a decently tall dirt mound where the map told me to turn before getting on the final road leading to the campground. Long story short, it looks like there is a dirt road behind the tall mound blocking the path, so the park may have created this wall in…
The Crater of Diamonds State Park is an exciting place full of rich history and, of course, finding lots of rough diamonds. The State Park is listed as the eighth largest reserve of diamonds in the world according to their website, and this park sets itself apart from anywhere else by allowing…
