Brown Springs Picnic Area (Overflow camping)

Hikers and day-trippers visiting Mount Magazine State Park Campground will find this overflow area just down the road, operating as a campground by arrangement with park rangers rather than by reservation. No running water on site. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table, and a couple of spots reportedly have open sightlines toward the surrounding ridgeline. First-come, first-served access and a lower nightly rate make it a reasonable choice for self-sufficient campers who can do without hookups or water.
